I totally relate to people having pre-conceived expectations! As a competitive figure skater who has continued to compete as a young 20-year-old, you 100% have fears of what people will think, i.e “what if people don’t think im as good as i was in my teens?”..etc. I’ve learned to take it in stride and instead be grateful that I still get to do what I love, and if anyone has any comments, I simply ask them to go out there (whether be on stage or at a competition) and show me how they can do it better than what I just did 🥰❤️ You look SO amazing! I could not even attempt to do a quarter of what you do on pointe shoes! Don’t discredit yourself, you show such strength, grace, and poise! You’ll do so amazing on stage!🥰❤️✨

First of all, YOU'RE DOING SO WELL, IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL. Second: what helps me is to be very delusional, haha. To envision, before I start dancing, that I'm in a beautiful costume and that I fully belong here. To just think I belong here as much as Marianela or Natalia Osipova would. It's crazy but it helps! And as soon as the music starts, to focus and enjoy the music as much as possible and to trust myself I know the steps

I just had to look you up to see what you were cast this year and there you are doing the Arabian queen again. I remember how much you struggled last year and here you are killing it again. I hope all your shows are amazing. So love ballet as a viewer and audience member when I can afford it. I’ve been to many performances of nutcracker some in south Florida and Pacific Northwest ballet’s version with Maurice Sendak costumes and sets which were amazing. Just saw the sugar plum dance online from the master ballet academy online and it was excellent also. Have fun and do what you so love. The worst enemy most of us have is ourselves. Luna let it go. Doing your best is all you can do. Perfection is attainable but it is also so very rare. In striving for it the next step down is excellence. I'm harder than others on myself nearly all the time. I'm ok with that though, I have to live with me. I advise you to do everything for yourself first. This is not selfish. This is a starting point. I'm 53, I wish I had this outlook on life earlier but I had to progress to this point. I do everything for everyone and like everyone else I want to please people as you do. But I'm done letting MYSELF down (ok it does hurt me when I fail lol). I know I try my hardest. The thing is I know you try your hardest. The road to perfection is paved with mistakes. Keep making them. The real problem is when your thoughts distract. This is what I am getting at-do not let your thoughts lead to failure. You can tell negative thoughts NO. I think sometimes the nicest people are sort of being nice by entertaining thoughts of what others think, nasty people 100% don't care after all. I haven't seen your videos in awhile and this one just came through my feed so I checked in to see how you are doing, I would say awesomely. I'm a big fan of ballet, you are looking very fluid, nice job. Stay focused and loose.

I feel like sometimes we get hung up on the thought that people are watching performances for "the person performing" but i feel like in ballet, people want to see the art of it, THE performance as a whole, not for one particular dancer, The Nutcracker is such a rollercoaster and every dancer makes it what it is, remember your are a vehicle for the art, your deliver a feeling, an emotion and an entire idea through the pieces you dance, be confident in the fact that you're delivering your performance from a place of love for the craft, and that's where the true enjoyment come from, you are doing amazing and will do amazing when dancing for the audience

I'm going through the exact same thing mentally. I've been a dancer for many years and never had issues until after i took a step back once i graduated high school. my old company brings me back every performance as a guest artist and i have such a mental block now that i never had before and it is so frustrating and causes me such anxiety that i can make myself feel sick. the pressure of being at the same level i was at before gets to me especially since I'm not in the studio as much as i used to be and i am so hard on myself because i don't feel like i am at the level i was once at. trying to work on that mentality but it is so hard so i love how open you are and helps me realize it isn't just me. 💕
