"God dammmit Nutn! The 1st 1minute 30 seconds of this video is why I respect you.' Thanks dude. I want to be fair to the companies and do my best but I can see through the hype. That attitude got to me at the Show. I don't want to share the name of the company yet because I'm not sure he spoke for everyone there and it wouldn't be fair to lambast them on that one data point alone. However if I get more of the same from these guys then I will. Tactical nylon makers are many. Thanks all.

Veri - Please pass on my great appreciation for the "resident physician" annotation and prior shout outs. I am deeply honored and it has brought a huge smile to my face! You always have "a doc on call 24/7" . . . many thanks to both you and Nutn. I've spent many hours unwinding after work watching (and rewatching) TNP vids. You guys rock!

I'm his sister! When Nutn likes something, he'll let you know, you can almost see his tail wagging. Yes, he's enthusiastic! At the SHOT show, like jake says below me, he was like a kid in a candy store. Glad you liked the Blackhawk vid. -- Veri
@Hydroviper42010 жыл бұрын
Your annotations were correct, they actually do offer quality that is matched by no one else in the business. Blackhawk makes a ton more gear than SOE, but the gear SOE does make is top notch, hand stitched and tough as nails. And not to mention the second kind of cool factor in their products. I am 100% convinced that you would change your mind about SOE if you got a Cop Rig from them and ran it for a while. You might even want to do a review on it. (hint hint)

I used to work at a small dealership & the owner was adamant we treat everyone that walked in with courtesy & respect. If you treat them right, maybe they'll tell 1 or 2 others. If you treat them bad, they WILL tell 10 others. & they will tell 10 others, etc. A good rep is like Kevin Miller from Tapco. He did not bad mouth the competition, but acknowledged them, and then went on to describe the merits of his own products. That's the mark of a true professional.
@nutnfancy15 жыл бұрын
"The rep did a really awesome job showing his company's product lines." I agree. And keep this in mind: several companies in the booths would not go on camera for fear on not being able to answer my questions/criticisms or just fear of the camera. It's a lot harder than it looks I think. Big kudos to Terry Naughton because he stepped up with only 2 minutes notice (!) and fielded all my questions without complaint. Thanks.

Having owned both brands I can say Special Operations Equipment Gear's Quality and customer service far exceeds that of Black Hawk!

I ripped the shit out of the blackhawk! junk I bought when I first wanted a chest rig. I went through a couple other brands with similar results, blowing out the sides of mag carriers and everything. Finally I found SOE and bought a few things and will never go back. The shit is bombproof. The construction is way nicer than anybody else's. Their belts also don't sag, and I mean at all--other belts I've had sag badly after a few months, that look almost identical.

Black hawk is an outstanding company you can swear by. The quick disconnect system is an awesome idea. I'll be looking into that. As an Aircrewman I'm enjoy being able to move my gun around from thigh to chest to belt. That eliminates the need to swap holsters. I absolutely love the Serpa holsters. I have 3 of them for my issued M9. Black is a company you can count on. You know it's not going to fail on you or start to sag and stretch a couple months into wearing it everyday.
@smc591015 жыл бұрын
"This will be one of your classics" no doubt about it. You could tell Terry truly believed in his company's product, he is an assist to Blackhawk. This company has their finger of the pulse of the end user and it is refreshing to see that they listen to feedback and incorporate it into their products . Those Serpa holster quick connects could be utilized in a number of cool ways. The UK-SFK was impressive, but then all their knifes rock. Outstanding job - Like Blackhawk even more after the vid.

that serpa disconnect system is also great for vehicle mounting, alot of the guys on my team have serpas for their secondary handguns mounted under the steering wheels in our vehicles (high risk security teams) works great if we want to put them on our vests while doing vehicular ops or if we run low profile it's still more accessible than our hip mounted pistols. Just another great option for that system. great vid as usual nutn!

I had a knox stock on my mossberg 590A1 & it beat the hell out of my cheek. It was difficult to obtain a good cheek well & sight picture. It seamed to direct the recoil force up as the reciever slid up the stock against that first spring. After a dozen shots of 2 3/4" 1 oz slugs, I started to develop a flinch b/c my cheek was bruised. I never had that problem with the original stock so I ended up returning it. I handle the recoil with the original stock just fine & it doesn't hurt my cheek.

I still buy there gear & I'm not ashamed to say that. That said, I live near Joint Base Lewis McChord so Tactical Tailor & BladeTech are my go to outfitter but BLACKHAWK too me is still an excellent company w/ great products and excellent customer service.

He is absolutely right about the strobbing lights in room clearance, especially at high lumen outputs with multi-strobes. It is extremely disorienting and provides the breacher with a notable tactical advantage. However, there is a training curve; learning to operate behind the light Research has shown though that the random intervals between multiple strobes has the most effect, I'd like to see a manufacturer develop a tactical strobe for their lights that has random timing.

I've always loved blackhawk stuff and sometimes I would notice their price point is a little higher then some. I would always look for the deals (picked up a $170 vest on clearance for thirty some dollars) However, With the way that he spoke of his products and the way that he would get user input, it makes them more appealing! I think spending a little extra for a better product and better customer service is worth it!

I am looking forward to the Knoxx stock review. I want to get that for my 870. As far as the problem with resting your check on the stock ( which def looks uncomfortable ) I plan on buying the stock and the cheek piece/side saddle set up for the weapon. At that point though, the stock and cheek/side saddle piece will run around $180-200.00 range. A little pricey but probably worth it. So far have heard god things about the system. Nutn, have you ever tried any of the safariland style holsters? They more recently came out with ALS similar in locking system to a serpa holster (not exact as it locks into the ejection port) and of course their SLS style system. Would love to see you talk about that vs the serpa as I've heard that if you get small rocks or other debris in the locking system of the serpa that it essentially locks you out of being able to use your pistol.

Like u said, it does come down to the company's QA, their personal philosophy, & ethics that determines the end quality of their product. There are companies that come to the US because they know that it will pay off in the end. They maintain their quality, etc, as they would in their home country, but with American labor, and parts. We are getting closer to a World economy, so sometimes when you buy American, some foreign company is still getting paid, and vice versa.

Nutnfancy, Terry was a great host. He really knew his stuff. There is a myth about the "Made in USA" labeling. Ya, it may have been 'assembled' in the US, but where were the parts & materials sourced from? Biggest example is the Auto Industry. a lot of the Japanese cars are made in the US. If you go and look on the windshield of a new car, it will state where the parts are sourced from. That's why you can sometimes find the same parts on imports as well as domestic autos.
