Nice Mini AK! Just got mine in the mail and when I opened that box it blew me away. No matter how many videos I watched or reviews I read, nothing can do that thing justice. I freaking love it! And the deploy on pocket extraction just adds a ridiculous cool factor! Keep up the good work nutn.

How great is it that the end results are presented first. "9.5 out of 10 because of the price." And your vids are so good, that I watched the whole vid through despite knowing the outcome. That's a bit of a testament to the quality of these vids. Thx again Nut'n.

I've been looking for this blade for a while, it looks awesome. A bit pricy but still one of my next blade investment. Thank you so much for the review! Lately you've been posting a lot of great vids, didn't comment on every one of em but got to tell you, they were excelent and I enjoyed them very much. TNP project ROCKS! Thanks Nutn!

Good vid as always, Nutn. I've had my Junior since last fall. I sent Veri an email about me slicing a tip of my finger when I grabbed for it in my pocket. The retention out of box of my particular knife was loose. I've tightened it up and accepted that this is not a tactical blade. Thanks again! --Gucci

this is the first time i have seen this blade and my first impression... I MUST BUY ONE, I DONT CARE THE PRICE. and this is special because i only carry one EDC blade and dont collect knives. i was sold before the first word out of your mouth. i have seen all knife vids but have never been so attracted to a knife. the design and quality is just beautiful and superb. thanks for all the great info. :D

For the price, I have been loving my skyline as a duty EDC. The junior looks like it has some function that is not as useful to me, but I can definitely appreciate the purposeful aesthetics. Thank you for sharing!

Spyderco just does it for me. A sypderco blade will always have a 2nd type of cool factor for me. I just love the form factor, the feel and that deployment hole. Their blade shapes are just cool too. The delica and enduras look like steel taradactiles. sick!

Actually the compression lock can be used pretty hard. Because positive pressure, on the blade, will be absorbed, hopefully by the stop pin. While the negative pressures hitting the spine, will push in to the compression lock, which rest under the stop pin.

Been following the project for a few years now, LOVE IT! I had the Junior for a light summer carry knife before this video came out. I watched this the day it came out and was pumped to know you gave it a thumbs up also. On a side note, I wasn't into Microtechs when your first TNP manufacturer knife came out (kicking myself!). I have a sweet blue dagger point Ultratech now. I was thinking the junior would be a great second TNP knife... Or of course a tenacious, maybe in a sprint run VG-10. ;)

I very likeable blade. I agree it would be prefect for the backpacker. Since I just returned from my trip to the Rocky Mtns, and canyon, the weight would have been nice. I have learn what I could get rid of, and decrease the weight. I'm still learning, but I going to have to cut this blade out. Thanks for such a great review. That care. I think he meant that by using metric as opposed to imperial(mm as opposed to inches) not the actual length of the blade. Most reviews use inches, which may not mean much if you use the metric system.

Something Dialex did that W.C. Scagle did: put the cutting edge way under the level of the fingers which really makes it a better knife. Puts the edge in a better place for cutting.

Hey Nutnfancy, If you find the Flash II is locking all the time you can just unlock it, put some hot glue, melt some candle wax, etc. and it should solve it. I used a small drop of wax on mine and it's lasted 4 months now.

Nutn' you need to do a blade steel POU video or at least explain pros and cons for some of the major ones. Would definitely help when deciding blades, cause, as someone pointed out, the Manix 2 XL is less expensive and more comfortable but diff blade steel.

I've been looking really hard at this knife lately, trying to decide if it would be worth the price tag. This video couldn't have come at a better time, Nutn! Spyderco will be getting another chunk of paycheck sometime here :P
@vitdelrosario110 жыл бұрын
nutnfancy, i think you should rethink your verdict on the compression lock strength. i believe this is #2 only to the triad. when spine whacking, the tang contacts the liner into the axis of its height, not its length. the critical stress on that liner is only compression now rather than the shear and bending that is present in liner lock liners and lockback arms. that will let it take A LOT of stress before being crushed between the stop pin and the tang which is the only way you can fail this.
@Player_Review9 жыл бұрын
Vittorio del rosario I agree with you on the compression lock. It is far more convenient than the triad for closing and weight, but it will generally fail before a triad. I do think it'd withstand beatings that all other locks will fail on earlier though, such as frame/liner/ball-bearing/back locks. Plus, with Spyderco's CQI, it just gets better and better with every knife they make.

I really dig watching you review Knives that your so obviously excited about...... Parts of it sounded like it was being reviewed by that ten year old boy that still resides in a good many of us ....... As much as i love the design of the Junior i couldnt help comparing it to my Paramilitary and coming to the conclusion that the Para2 has it beat in several aspects ... S30V > VG10....Golden CO. > Seki Japan..... and last but not least ...$110 street for a Para2 vs $125 for the Junior..

I really do not see that as a great backpacking blade, for at least what I do, but my god that would be a sweet edc. I would gladly carry that. One of my favorit edc's is the kershaw skyline, but I would love to carry something that is a step up from it in general "niceness". This could just be that :) and I would feel a lot more secure pulling that out in public then a paramilitary when it comes to that price range.
