This video was so helpful! For me, it's much easier to understand how to improve my diet by recognizing some of the mistakes I make and then learning how to fix them. And the fact that you are so respectful, it actually felt more like showing how to improve than pointing mistakes.Thank you for your content ❤

My understanding based on what I’ve read is that butter (particularly grass fed butter )contains CLA which is a fatty acid that is linked to fighting cancer, preventing bone loss and is anti inflammatory. The quantity is the issue though in my opinion. If this were enjoyed in moderation alongside other fats such as olive oil, avocados, nuts or seeds, oily fish etc that would be more balanced overall ? I know that taking daily shots of olive oil is pretty commonplace is some cultures but yeah I’m personally struggling to see the appeal of cold chunks of butter…
@MiaK06

@@ruthg8799 I am a believer in pure grass fed butter and I know personally that I feel better when I have a little bit of it. But it’s all in moderation, isn’t it. And the thing with these carnivore followers is that all they eat is meat and butter and eggs and heavy cream. I don’t understand where they get their energy from. They all claim to be so full of energy and healthy and claim that this resolved all their ailments from digestive to mental etc. I was on Atkins when it was in fashion which I think is pretty much same thing as carnivore for three days before I caved. Had no energy, felt disgusting, digestion totally shut down etc. I get angry when I see these videos of carnivore promoters because to me it promotes a very unhealthy way of eating - it may perhaps work for some perhaps but it’s a horrific way of eating in my humble opinion

Had to laugh at the Carnivore clip. That is such an American thing. (and I love the US as having lived there for many years). But when it comes to diet, my fellow American compatriots are just a bit nutty sometimes... I remember trying the Atkinson diet once many years ago... within two days I felt like a train had backed over me a few times not to mention the havoc it wreaked on my digestive system. And I also have to admit that the whole concept of putting my body into ketosis which is by some who promote carnivore described as a desirable state totally messed up my kidney function for a period. It is so dangerous and so unhealthy.

Genuinely so curious and concerned about how the carnivore diet is panning out for those influencers from a health perspective particularly given how deficient in vitamin c and vitamin e they must be. Surely at the end of the day we eat for nourishment and enjoyment and not for traumatic bowel movements that are endured for the sole purpose of losing a few pounds?

@@rachelblack9545thank you for your reply, certainly open to hearing different perspectives on this. I am wondering if those who benefit from GI standpoint are moreso benefitting from the low FODMAP aspect of the diet (in some cases at least?). Certainly everyone has their own nutritional needs and preferences so I think we all just need to work with the the information/research that’s out there and available. For me personally, the Mediterranean diet seems to have the best evidence and suits my own nutritional needs and preferences so that’s what I’m personally sticking to.

@@rachelblack9545 Do you know, I have GI issues. Not sure if one could call them severe but it’s essentially IBD am dealing with. Single worst diet for me is a heavy fat diet. Now I do also need to be careful with grains and I don’t tolerate whole grains a lot and actually have to stick with a low fibre diet mostly during flare ups but if I were to eat lots of meat and butter etc during a flare up, I’d be in a hospital doubled over in pain. Am not disputing that for some perhaps it may work but def not for serious ibd sufferers

I think it's fine if you're doing it in a "natural" way (a lot of vegans are hclf without trying) but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it. A balance of all macros is best! And aim for as many grams of protein a day as your weight in kilograms!

I've done intermittent fasting for that long and I feel great. When I let my digestive system have a break rather than constantly eating all day it is amazing how much better I feel. I don't do it every day, definitely not around my period when I'm extra hungry, but if I'm not hungry then I just don't eat. I've learned that I eat more from social pressure to do so rather than actual hunger. The actual hunger is a mid afternoon thing for me and then I have zero interest in food again until the next day.

I'm actually a fan of the carnivore lady. It is actually not a dangerous way of eating. There is actually zero meaningful science backing limiting meat or for needing veggies. You do not need fiber to have a bowel movement. You only need fiber to poop if you're eating plants. Meat, particularly red meat, is almost entirely absorbed and digested in your small intestine so you won't NEED to poop very often. The woman in that video gained weight eating low fat, high fiber diets. She is thriving and her labs are perfect. I'd recommend doing your own research before determining an all meat diet is dangerous. I generally love your advice but this is where I strongly disagree. I personally can't afford to eat strict carnivore and I wouldn't be so strict because of social situations but when I have eaten carnivore, I never felt better. It's a very fresh, clean way of eating because it's very natural.

@@harleen6850 nutritionists learn the food pyramid which is essentially upside down. I’m. It questioning her credentials. I’m questioning the paradigm she was taught. If her eating plan works for her (or you, for that matter), then no reason to stop. All I’m suggesting is there is another way that may work better for other people. When I said “do your own research,” I meant do research outside of what she was taught. I tried every way of eating to rid myself of chronic pain and I can tell you nothing helped outside an extremely low carbohydrate diet and in particularly a mostly red meat diet.
