I exploded and animated this during 15 days non-stop every night. I'm super happy I animated something that long and cleaned it and finished it completely ! :]

Such a perfect animation! This means a lot to me since this was the only Ruby ship I felt had any real footing since they had such a strong bond, I could easily see them developing romantic feelings for each other. Penny deserved much more than how the writers treated her. 😢

Even though I think the two of them would better off as sisters, I agree with you. These two really vibed. Penny deserved so much better. The sad part is that her "sacrifice" came at a heavy cost. She lost her life, she lost the Relic, Winter and Ruby lost a very close friend, Pietro lost his daughter, Jaune will carry what he did for the rest of his life and now Salem is just two steps ahead of her goal. Guilt, gaslighting, insecurity, fear, doubt and failure are the things that lead to her death. All she wanted to do was prove that she was a real person and not a puppet on strings. But she let all of those bad thing dictate her decisions. She jeopardized the mission and fell right into Cinder's trap. Even when her friends and father tried to guide her on the right path, she just pushed them away. She was done listening to people who were telling her what to do. Even those who had her best interest at heart. She wanted to make a choice whether they liked it or not. She doesn't realize that she did the right thing taking the Maiden powers. Because if she didn't, Cinder could've killed both Winter then her, taken the powers for herself, opened the Vault, claimed the Relic and Atlas would've been doomed. She saved countless lives doing that. Sure, Winter still got hurt and Atlas came under siege. Better that than complete annihilation. The kingdom can be rebuilt but the lives of the people who live in it are finite. Something Robyn Hill believed in and something Ironwood didn't understand. Besides Ironwood and the Ace-Ops, the only other person who blamed Penny for this was herself. I wish I could've just reached through the screen and slap Penny while telling her to get ahold of herself. Sacrifice is always the only solution to correct a mistake. It requires an open mind and patience.

This was so beautiful, Penny's words were literally tugging at my heartstrings... Rwby had so much potential, I feel a deep sorrow that Mounty passed away so early and was not here with us to continue the story... I still love the show but damn... This universe had so much to be explored, so much interesting characters and stories to be unfold... My only hope is that artists such as you will one day resurrect the show and fill it with beauty like in this video... Albeit this was less than a minute, I loved every second of it... Thank you...

I can Fix that!" *Ruby Gazes up at the Green Hologram, Atlassian snow gently gliding onto the cold frigid surface of Mantle. Ruby's tired, baggy eyes stares longingly into the Hologram. Realising she is truly gone, and that something beautiful from the world had been taken before it's time...* "Salutions! Are you in need of a Combat Buddy? Are you struggling to defeat the Grimm? So Penny really does regret about her unnecessary sacrifice after all. She was so blinded by her guilt and desire to do her own thing, she didn't see the emotional harm and consequences that came with it. Until it was too late. Her friends wanted her to make the right choices, but they just wanted to guide her in the right direction. Her death was forced, mean-spirited, poorly written and half-assed. The only "good" thing I can understand about it is that it serves as a cautionary tale of what happens when you let your guilt, doubts, failures, fears and insecurities dictate your choices in trying to do the right thing. As well as a tragic yet poignant reminder of the intricacies of choice and profound impact that they have. And that our internal battles are just as consequential as our external ones. In Penny's case, she was consumed by her failure of protecting Winter and keeping the people of Mantle safe. Her fear of not doing anything will make things worse. Her insecurities of being nothing more than a machine. Her doubts about whether or not if she did the right thing taking the Maiden powers. Her desire to make a choice, fix her mistake and not be a puppet on strings, even if it meant sacrificing herself to do it. Being framed for murder by Watts and Tyrian. The gaslighting and blackmail from Ironwood and the Ace-Ops. Being toyed with by Cinder. And finally getting hacked by Watts. All of this added more fuel to her recklessness. She failed to understand that sacrifice is only noble when the implications are fully understood and when its purpose is just. It shouldn't necessarily be the only solution to fix a problem. Dying isn't cool, think about how it would affect people's hearts. She needed to be more mindful of her choices before execution. This is what people mean when they say "Choose wisely" and "Think before you act". Decisions done in a haste or in isolation can be bad and can lead to devastating consequences. Plus, she needed to learn from her mistakes or else history will repeat itself. Penny did the right thing taking the Maiden powers. What she doesn't realize is that if she didn't, Cinder would've killed Winter then her, taken the powers, opened the Vault, claimed the Relic and Atlas would've fallen. So what she did was a big emergency. She saved not only Winter but thousands of innocent lives in the kingdom. Even if Atlas is now under siege, better that than complete annihilation. The kingdom can be rebuilt but the lives of the people who live in it are finite. Something Robyn Hill believed in. Thus, It's not entirely Penny's fault as she thinks it is. Some things are just far beyond our control. Sometimes, things have to get worse before they get better. Plus, no one gave a damn about whose fault it was, even if it was Penny's. All her friends and father wanted to do was help her fix it. But she pushed them all away. Winter was never in any critical condition. She only got a few scapes and bruises nothing more. The Ace-Ops made it up to goad her into surrendering. Which is low even for them. And that leaves us with that Battle against Cinder in the Central Location. (Bad writing and nerfing the heroes aside) They told her to go through the portal to Vacuo because she had the Relic in hand. Unfortunately, she didn't listen. Then again, she was done listening. Tired of people telling her what to do, holding her back and getting hurt because of her. Even people who had her best interest at heart. She wanted to make a choice whether they liked it or not. But that's what Cinder wanted her to do. She forgot that she had the Maiden powers and the Relic before she walked right into Cinder's trap. Then after getting mortally wounded, she forced Jaune to kill her to transfer the powers to Winter who was wasting time fighting Ironwood. Not to mention at this point the Maiden powers weren't important anymore as they already served their purpose. And as a result, Penny lost her life, she lost the Relic, Ruby and Winter lost a very good friend, Pietro lost his daughter, Jaune will carry this tragedy for the rest of his life and now Salem is just two steps ahead of her goal. Penny's "sacrifice" came at a heavy price. The fact that she didn't even regret it while talking to Winter just proves how naive she was. Her whole death was pointless and she didn't know what she had until it was gone. With all of that being said, I'm not mad at Penny. I'm mad at what she did and what she didn't try to do. She didn't look before she leaped and paid for it. But if this video isn't any indication that she really does regret it all and wishes she could take it all back, then I don't know what is. And if she had feelings for Ruby, now she won't be able to confess them. And it changes nothing about my negative opinion about her death. It's bad no matter how you slice it. In hindsight, she could've just thrown the Relic into the portal when no one was looking and THEN stay to help out, then it wouldn't matter if she died or not. Apologies for the long explanation and analysis. Thank you all for listening and help anybody who are dealing with problems like Penny was going through before it's too late. And I swear on my grandmother's grave, Cinder will pay. I SWEAR SHE'LL PAY!! P.S. I hope you make a video about Penny's ghost apologizing to all of her loved ones about she what did and what she should've done, while telling them to not give up and to avenge her. Giving Jaune, Ruby, Pietro and Winter closure. And also kudos to Taylor McNee's performance on this.

​@@TheClumsyXeno Much appreciated. I agree that people misunderstand her choices and believe that she did the right thing. But I don't like her decision because of the grave consequences it could unleash. Hell, she didn't even need to become human to BE human because she's already proven that she's more than a machine. All of her happiness, sadness, fears, joys, worries doubts, confidence and everything prove it. A real robot wouldn't be having all of these problems. It would be following cold, emotionless logic. She's more human than Ironwood and that's saying something. Even if these emotions were programmed into her, they're all too real. Plus, to me at least, Ruby and Jaune's dilemmas in V9 almost mirror Penny's dilemma. Both of them were trying to deal with their last stunning failure in the last volume, suffered a hero complex and tried to do whatever it took to fix it. While Ruby barley had time to process it, Jaune had decades. Yet, he still couldn't get over it and how could he? He took an innocent life. Penny made him betray his core principles just to keep a power that was no longer important safe. To him, her life mattered more than those accursed powers. But to her on the other hand, it's her last chance to make a choice. For that, he tried to overcompensate, like she did, by being a protector of the Paper Pleasers. Practically holding them hostage and even made a list of dangers to protect them from to the point of it becoming a daily routine. It was unhealthy. And the Paper Pleasers were trying to ascend in ways that involved basically killing themselves, so they can get a new purpose and more durable bodies. Making Jaune's situation even worse. Ruby, on the other hand, also suffered with her negative feelings. Constantly being neglected by teammates as they were doing too many things at once. Such as trying process what happened, figuring out how they got in this parallel dimension, learn the nature of it, how to get back home, how to make the best of it and who can they trust. Let's not forget that they got stripped of their weapons, captured by mice, Yang got her arm stolen, shrunken down to play a game of chess, trying to find a cure, getting attacked by the Jabberwalker, getting their morality toyed with by a caterpillar, learning Neo had fallen with them, the list goes on. It's no wonder they were oblivious to Ruby's pain and I hate that people think they're ignoring her on purpose. Ever After was making them jump from one place to another like it was some kind of RPG speedrun and barely getting a moment to rest. When they do, it doesn't last very long. Now back to Ruby, she didn't help her case either. Sitting around and expecting people to notice your pain is a terrible and unhealthy thing to do. All that does is bottle it up. They can't help her if she won't let them. They're not mind readers. But to be fair, even if she wanted to tell what was going on, she lacked the confidence to do so. She wanted help and didn't want help, simultaneously. She feared that as leader, if she shows any signs of weakness to her teammates, they'll either lose hope or turn their backs on her. Thus, she must maintain a brave face. It's a common misconception. She probably even believed that they had problems of her own and didn't want to put her baggage onto them. And every time she tries to talk to them, a something happens and she just drops it altogether. And even if WBY did know what was going on with Ruby. It would've been best for them to give her some space until she's ready to talk. It's not good to pry. If it may seem like they're taking her for granted and putting too much pressure, it's only because they believe in her as she's always gotten them through thick and thin. She's the glue of the team and always bounces back. But I will agree that there will alway come a time when they must do for her as much as she does for them. It's good that they have faith in her, but they must always do their part for one another. Ruby's decision to turn herself into something she isn't to become a better hero and leader could've ended in disaster if she hadn't chose herself instead. Penny made similar mistake, look where that got her. No one asked Ruby to be perfect.

Me too, friend. Unfortunately, COVID-19 made V9's production a nightmare. And as a result, the script was constantly rewritten and a lot of things got cut out. Probably even this.

I’m sad now because penny is adorable and everyone who watched her first appearance in the show loved her. But she didn’t get the Chance to grow up with her friends and she died making sure that cinder wouldn’t be able to harm her friends. ​@@EtincelleartMe too. But personally I'm more of a Lancaster (Ruby x Jaune) fan. Ruby and Jaune have been put through the wringer in more ways than one. Jaune lost the girl he loved and Ruby lost the girl she could've loved. These two have had each other's shoulders to lean on. Both of them never asked to be leaders nor were they ready to become Hunters. Ruby was drafted two years, too early. Jaune cheated his way in by using fake transcripts. No one even told them about the responsibilities that came with it. If that's not proof that they're a perfect match, then I don't know what is. Or if push comes to shove, there's always Robotic Knight. (Jaune x Penny)
