Nutty Jake's Mine Ride Dark Ride at Oakwood Theme Park in Wales

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting this up. This was my favourite ride at Oakwood and my fav ride ever. My grandfather and i used to go on this when we went on holiday every year. Was so sad when went there in about 2003 and they had then replaced it with slot machines. Was last time i went.

Just went to Oakwood yesterday and I couldn't even find anything that resembles it now. They had a spooky area being set up for Halloween and alot of area closed off for development. Felt like there was far less there now than back in the 90s and early 2000s. Still enjoyed ourselves though.

Miss this ride so badly, reminds me of being young & having distant memories, they should never have changed this theme in oakwood, its so run down now thanks for posting made me smile :)

The last time I went on this ride was in 1988.. nearly thirty years ago! I still have a coffee mug with Nutty Jake on it that I bought from the gift shop. I can't see that ride coming back anytime soon, very dark and surreal.

For those that dont get whats going on in the vid. The ride takes you through an old gold mine set in the wild west and nutty Jake has gone ... Nuts and thinks your out to get its gold and blows up the mine. I remember when he blew it the driver would say on mic " lets get out of here ! " Such great memories. Thank you :)

Omg can't believe I've found this. I got kicked off this ride when I was a kid because I touched the wall in the tunnel and the lady operating it had clearly dealt with enough annoying kids that day. She stopped the train and made this assistant kid walk me back to the ride exit. It was the funniest thing in the world at the time and a random trip down memory lane got me searching for what ride it was and where, and I ended up here! What a wonderful thing KZbin is. 😂

The tunnel is still there, and the train is stashed inside it. It's just rotting like the rest of the place. Some of the worst management you'll ever see

How do you know the train is still in there? You’d only know that if you’ve been inside

@@starletep8281I have. But that's not the only way. You can see the back of it just inside the entrance as you walk down the hill from the train station

Oak wood park did have the best rides. Jake mine Go carts Disco Puppets theme cinema back 1997 I loved tha 👍 Family that's owed oakwood park new what they were doing. UNTILL the different company took over and it went down hill..

was it ever blown up? I remember a damaged plank and jake pointing a gun at the train but I didn't think it ever blew up. Now that it is infested with brer I would personally love to push the plunger
