Nuwara Eliya | Motorbike Adventure | Lost Halfway to Kandy & Peacock Rock

Part 1: Nuwara Eliya Trip - Riding a Motorcycle through the mountains of Nuwara Eliya was incredible! We got completely lost and drove halfway to Kandy instead of finding Peacock Rock.
However we did try to find the sunken temple of Purana Kadadora Viharaya and ended up in the giant dome stupa of Kothmale Mahaweli Maha Seya.

the statues at the temple are recently made... if you visit Anuradapura or Polonnaruwa you will see the ancient statues like that.. and the famous "sandakada pahana" (the half circle carvings near the stairs at the temple)

You got to do Horton plains ( world's end ).. take Sandwiches for a picnic at baker's falls .. another dimension. .. . Yall would love it . But be aware if it's too cloudy . You'd have to evacuate fast .. . But certainly worth chilling in those spring chill waters .

Dont miss the Piduruthalagala mountain (The highest peak in Sri Lanka) you can reach their in the same Nuwara eliya town... ask local they will guide you.... its a sanctuary guarded by the Sri Lanka ARMY / AIRFORce and Sri Lanka Airport Authority (Two main Radars are operating from their)....

Hi Johnny, Wel come to Sri Lanka , The paradise ...Even though i live in LA california i think sri lanka is safer than any other country now . try kandy - maligawa - botanical garden , pinnawela - elephant orphanage , batalegala rock - hike , ella - waterfall, nuwara eliya - garden , dambulla- caves , sigiya - rock, Anuradhapura, polonnaruwa - anciat ruins , trincomali - marbal beach and natural harbor , down south -mirissa , hikkaduwa - beach , galle -port , Aru gam bay - surfing hot spot, yala, wil paththu - national parks, also try kali pitiya -beach , enjoy your vacation and be safe .... Ohh you were soo close to peacock hill. You just had to continue riding on the road near the temple. little bit rough road but soo close to the top.. While you are in nuwaraeliya you should try pattipola(railway station at the highest altitude in sl ) to ohiya road which goes through hortain plains national park( you have to buy tickets at the entrance ). Such a beautiful road.

Due to security reasons, they will not allow visitors in nowadays. That is sad. We tried and failed too. But Kotmale Maha Weli Seya is a thing one must come and see. From there one can 360 view of the mountain range.

You guys are such a genuine and humble people who tries to show more to the world than just the beauty of this wonderful Island. Massive respect for that dude. Usually people are very friendly and encourage their kids to talk to foreigners. But Corona cause panic now so I think she was being cautious not rude. I'm a Sri Lankan living in CT & is living vicariously through you. So keep posting these videos of my birth country 😊 Places you should visit are prehistoric cave art discovered in 2005 near Ella. A hike guide called thetravelmonkey posted on insta. Check him out. Horton plains is another cool place with sambar deers. It feels like you are in north America there.

That woman 14:06 who was yelling at their kid has a little bit scare of COVID-19 (but not everyone in the country). They definitely assumed that It was spread by tourists visit at that time in Sri Lanka. Even when I visit there as a Sri Lankan, I also have to face these kinds of situations.
