*IN DEFENSE OF THE YOSHI ASSPULL,* we do find out over the course of this arc that Hamato Yoshi was another acolyte of the Ninja Tribunal, and that he had apparently been learning the same mystic arts as his Turtle grandsons and was very promising according to the Tribunal, but he never completed his training under the Tribunal and instead got sidetracked trying to deal with the Utrom Shredder. Yoshi's spirit showing up was basically one get-out-of-jail-free card that the Turtles didn't even know they had, and it only happened because the Turtles and Splinter had a connection to Yoshi, and Yoshi's entire reason for living was to fight the Shredder's evil in all its forms. So, just like Karai can siphon away the Tengu Shredder's powers because she's the current Shredder and essentially stealing the power of his name, so too does the spirit of Hamato Yoshi embody the will to fight against the Shredder and can be called upon, albeit temporarily, and by itself it was only enough to wound the Tengu Shredder and force him to gather his strength instead of expending it on his reality-bending powers.

TMNT 2003 is basically the anime adaptation of the 1984 Ninja Turtles comics. They took some creative liberties and censored out a lot of unsafe material for children as the comics were basically Daredevil parody.

@@ageridthesilverdragon4440 Because TMNT is a multiverse, CJ was only talking about the 2003 Tengu Shredder, the 2018 Rise of TMNT is a different universe so unless that Shredder is the same Shredder from 2003 and somehow jumped universe than no they would be two different Shredder and should be judge separately I believe 2003 started the multiverse for TMNT, the next Shredder will be the 2012 human/mutant Shedder and is from a different universe than the first two CJ talk about, that series also confirmed to be apart of the multiverse, as in they have a Tran dimensional episode Hope this helps with the confusion

@@LeaderOfTheLostSouls Well that's kind of a poor argument. Just because you stole power or lucked into it doesn't make you any less of a threat. I mean just look at Gilgamesh from Fate. Dude didn't make any of the weapons in his Gate of Babylon, and his most powerful weapon is one he literally just stumbled across after some god left it after the Genesis of the world. Does that any of the god-killing weapons in his arsenal less effective? Not really. Utrom Shredder having a giant Technodrome mech body is still pretty threatening, even if it's not innately reality-bending like the Tengu Shredder, and the Tengu Shredder CAN be hurt by mundane and technological means, it's just less effective. After all, that's how Oroko Saki defeated the original Shredder; even if the demon let him win just to possess him, the fact remains that Oroko Saki managed to technically injure and kill the Shredder with just a sword. And if the Tengu Shredder can't just casually rip someone's soul out mid-combat, then there's probably a limit to that ability, be it willpower or whatever. Plus, the Utrom Shredder was also willing to destroy all of reality, including himself, just to settle his grudge against the Turtles, whereas the Tengu Shredder wants to live and enjoy himself, so he'd probably balk at what the Utrom Shredder did, meaning his resolve is weaker. As for the Cyber Shredder? He's a digital recreation of the Utrom Shredder brought into the real world, so he's literally just a better version of the Utrom Shredder because he doesn't have the vulnerability of a soul or biological components, but still has the same omnicidal personality. So if Utrom Shredder can beat the Tengu Shredder, so can the Cyber Shredder; it's just a matter of how much tech they can each get.

You see the turtle found the way to go back home in their time after getting sent to the future by accident on the way back they accidentally took a robot Butler from the future who is job to the guard April and Casey's descendant. The reason why the accident happened was because an evil AI her named Viral messed up with the time machine and she got sent into the past with them. Landed in a time paradox we see 3 shredders having a Battle Royale for the world. After escaping the time paradox and on the way back to their own time Master splinter dies then turned into computer code by cyber shredder because it could turn matter and dark matter into cybercode. The turtles and the robot Butler make it back to the turtles present time so did the evil AI she's stuck in the past so she goes into the internet finds foot clang vault and tries to acess the vault but it instead hacks her. Helpless, she is overwritten by the sentience and the Cyber Shredder is created. So for plot reasons Master splinter got turned to computer code spread over the internet location to help them bond as Brothers and find a way to defeat cyber shredder. The Turtles found away to teleport them and their friends in cyberspace as well getting them cyber powers. For crimes I guess vaporizing people to atoms is terrorism and cyberspace cybercrimes.

Tengu Shredder is what happens when Ainz Ooal Gown becomes pure fucking evil. The Foot Clan sends ninja armies, mobile suits, and cyborg ninjas armed with magi-tek weapons, along with the Foot Clan Elite Guard against him, and he couldn't be more bored when taking them out, even if he tried. The fact that this dude came out before Madara Uchiha is WILD. This guy was the Madara Uchiha of the TMNT series. And the thing is, he's way fucking worse than the actual Madara. Madara fought to bring peace to the world; this dude fought to bring the world to its knees and have his hellish domain devour it. I suppose this means that Hamato Yoshi is a good version of Kaguya for the TMNT 2003 cartoon.

Speaking of Father Pucci, the Mystic Acolytes were once the spiritual men of the Foot Clan, representing a more mystical aspect of Ninjutsu, and using psychic emanations and elemental magic to attack the TMNT and Splinter. The latter even had to use the Utrom Shredder's Sword of Tengu to defeat them. The Utrom Shredder valued their services and always respected them, but his successor Karai disrespected the Mystics, seeing them as nothing more but minions, and they began to long for a time when they dominated the world during the Tengu Shredder's leadership. So the Mystics tricked Agent Bishop and the TMNT into stealing an amulet from Karai, called the Heart of Tengu, the very same magic amulet that she used to control the Mystics. They tricked Bishop into destroying it with a laser, by lying to him and saying that it had all sorts of intricate alien tech blueprints that can be analyzed by laser. Then once the amulet was destroyed, the Mystics began to work towards the goal of reviving the Tengu Shredder, and while the Ninja Tribunal and their acolytes handed the Mystics and their minions the occasional defeat, the Mystics eventually rallied and defeated the Tribunal, seizing the Tengu Shredder's casket and his artifacts, so they could revive their master.

Yeah, the 2003 cartoon was bonkers because Peter Laird, one of the TMNT's co-creators worked on this and wanted to make it similar to the original Mirage Comics. But something went wrong and his body started to decay. It got to the point that he started putting nails in his limbs and stitching himself up in a desperate attempt to keep his new body in one piece. By the end he was basically a zombie, with even his MIND deteriorating to the mental state of a child and he fell into the sea. I assume being presumed dead until he came back centuries later in Fast Forward Obviously, I don't think this episode was what got the entire season "banned" by 4Kids execs, but it was a sign of the process going on in the writting room; which probably butted heads with said execs over the direction of the show a LONG time before this season

Friendly reminder that the Tengu Shredder was around for only one season for a total of 12 episodes. The details are unknown, but this is likely because , at this point, the show had started to suffer from production issues from behind the scenes as the producers and execs felt the show was getting *too dark & conveluted* and demanded a soft rebranding in the form of *Fast Forward* and then changed their minds when that simply wasn't as popular, resulting in the show kind of getting cancelled due to the mixed ratings & viewership (go figure, the suits created an imaginary problem, tried to "fix it" and the show suffered for it) and all before the writers could do their planned Shredder War arc where we would have had *Utrom Shredder, the new Cyber Shredder and Tengu Shredder* all popping off and warring with each other to see who gets to rule as the one TRUE Shredder. We did end up getting a satisfying finale with Utrom trying to destroy the multiverse, but it felt like we skipped *entire seasons* worth of content because of executive meddling. Resulting in the Tengu and Cyber Shredder in particular, being deined the screentime they SHOULD have had.

Also note that, while his role was much smaller than that of Utrom and Tengu Shredder, there is a third Shredder in the very same series (and probably won't be getting any worthwhile deep dive due to his short tenure not lasting enough for him to build a comparable crime list), appearing after Tengu Shredder, named Cyber Shredder. He was a digital backup of Utrom Shredder that took over an alien digital life form and also managed to remote control Baxter Stockman's rebuilt robotic body-at this point, Stockman was a brain in a jar controlling a robotic body. For a short time during the fight, both shared the same body until Stockman ejected his head with his brain jar, allowing the Turtles to attack Shredder (Who was remote controlling the body from the internet) without harming him. Cyber Shredder aimed to escape cyberspace and manifest into reality, now possessing intimate knowledge and the ability to manipulate electronics and interconnected technology. Within the cyberspace prison, this Shredder was incredibly powerful-practically omnipotent. He could phase through attacks and unleash massive explosive energy around himself, akin to detonating nukes, to blast the Turtles away. He could control city services to attack the Turtles from anywhere-for example, increasing the pressure in fire hydrants until the caps were launched at them like cannonballs, or flooding the sewers to force them out. Multiple times, he created a manifestation of his body in reality that, each time it was defeated, could escape back to cyberspace and rebuild himself stronger than the last times. Eventually, he became strong enough to casually swat away even the most powerful heroes who tried to stop him. During April's wedding, which Cyber Shredder crashed, several of the Turtles' most formidable allies and even a team of superheroes (similar to the Justice League) attempted to stop him. Cyber Shredder and his diminished Foot Clan remnants fended them all off. He literally swatted away these powerful heroes with casual hand waves, barely breaking a sweat as he walked toward the turtles without even slowing down. In terms of scope and length of role, his involvement was much more limited. However, he was very much a threat on par with the previous two Shredders doing away with the foes that Tengu couldn't keep down with his mythical level power, with the danger of being able to infinitely recreate himself and scale up his power each time due to his cyber abilities.

For the record in the 2003 TMNT had three Shredders. They are the Utrom Shredder, the Tengu Shredder, and the Cyber Shredder.

I love 03 fans coming together and filling in the VERY important context of the tengu shredder the foot mystics which cj completely omitted rip not really explaining yoshi's seeming deus ex machina actually being righteous vengance and finally putting his spirit to rest this season really was the culmination of these turtles and probably the best animated adaptation of the comics imo villains antiheroes literally superheros deformed experiments aliens nearly everyone the turtles met joined forces after the turtles get trained by the progenitors of martial arts and gain powers and new weapons all aside from leo all to give this shredder HELL and its fucking awesome

Gonna be honest, when I was born, Turtle Ninjas was already a base culture and didn't watched anny of them, unless this 3° series, I wasn't able to watch it all cuz, I think it was becuz the TV started repeating the seasons and the next ones wasn't finished yet, and by the time of it I forgot about it I don't remmember annything strongly that makes this next Shreder being asside of these 2 before, but wow, I love this 3° series so much, the 3D animation is so clean, the plots are fire, I feel kinda sad that you Nux are going to know only the Shreder parts of this one cuz everything else, the other villains, are also really peck

The craziest thing was they were planning to have a 3 shredders. The utrom, Demon, and Cyber shredders, who was a digital brain scan of the utrom shredder who possessed a cyber virus chick from the future and he wanted out of the matrix basically. So the plan was for all 3 to come back and fight each other for the throne to claim true shredderdom as we get a lil taste of it in the start of the 7th season and that sh#% was wild. Like 3 tyrannosaurus fighting over the turtles meal below. I can't imagine what they would've done with a whole other season, but alas it was canned and we got the multiverse film. Which honestly is still a big win. 😏👍
