Only using 1 Pokémon per gym leader reminds me of a swap and drop locke I did a while back. Basically the same concept, but once you use a mon in a gym battle you can never use it again.

I did something similar in ORAS but every battle counted. So if it was used in any battle it couldn't be used again.
