Awesome info, thanks for sharing the two options you went with! As always, it's good to see it installed and operating with your input on how it's been working out for you!

Pleasure, they work really well for us and will hopefully be using the same system for the next dome!

Love the domes, super cool! A/C is much more efficient than D/C at long distances. The D/C side from the panels to the charge controller is the one that needs to be the shortest distance. You may want to start putting panels on the restroom/toilet structure and consider placing them halfway between domes (Code likely requires it to be checked for high wind load strength). You can then run a short 25-50 foot A/C line to each dome. To maximize power output, you might consider calculating roof pitch and direction for best peak seasonal usage solar production. One idea is to have 3 or more split rooms for your toilet. One room would be your utility room in the middle of the structure for Inverter/batteries/charge controller. The other 2+ rooms can be on opposite ends with separate bathrooms / toilet for different guests if you want to keep it somewhat private. You can use the same utility room for wireless Internet access points if it's a service you provide.

Thanks so much for your insight, we are still learning about it all and know there are other/better ways of doing it all but will definitely look into those points for the next dome!

Awesome video guys! Have you ever had guests run out of electric? How does it perform during patches of cloudy weather or winter?
@TractorsandCream3 жыл бұрын
Hiya, no we've never run out electric, the batteries have a 5 day redundancy build in so even if it was pitch black it would still work for 5 days. The panels still generate power even when it's cloudy too so the likelihood of running out of power is very slim thankfully!

Hey Guys, Could you provide the link to the specific Kit you bought? I am curious which panels you bought, wattage and such, plus any other addons within the kit. Thanks!
@TractorsandCream2 жыл бұрын
Hiya, we are just about the buy the same kit again for a new dome so when I spoke to them about it they said the panels weren't the same as these as they didn't stock them anymore but if you pm me @tractorsandcream on fb or insta then I can hopefully give you a link to the online basket they put together for me or the one they will do this week if I can't find last year's. Is that ok? Thanks, Vicki

The seven I built I did the electrician myself it looks worse than what it is same as the plumbing.. the domes I built at least one was wheelchair accessible with a shower and washroom inside the dome I would stick with solo panels the goals to try to do it energy sufficient

Oh wow you are brave! We've sort of sussed plumbing but still worried about electrics! That's brilliant that you did a wheelchair accessible one. Yes I definitely solar is the way forward for these. Thanks for your comment. Vicki 😊
