At 1440p new Balanced preset now looks better than old Quality and very similar to old native 1440p + DLAA. That is the real game changer.

I have no doubt Nvidia will implement MFG at least on 40 series cards. I don't think they want to cannibalize their sales, so they came up with a lame reason as to why it's only available on 50 series. Mark my words, once the sales start dieing down and Lossless Scaling keeps on improving with updates and taking market share from Nvidia, they will suddenly find a way to make MFG work on 40 cards.

Yea lossless FG is amazing due to it im planning to buy a 240 hz monitor, I can easily use it to reach 240 or 360 fps in any game as long as I have 60 fps and the input lag isn't even noticable for me, I have a 4070 super and I still prefer lossless FG over dlss FG (Haven't tried the newer model) but I will say dlss FG has less artifacts. But one thing I hate is how most of the time lossless FG doesn't work properly out of the box, I need to do few steps in each start up of my PC to make it work flawlessly.

Your video is misleading a bit, as it doesn't provide the full scope of requirements in activating presets. v310.1 isn't _just_ DLSS4. It's an aggregate variant stored within nvidia drivers that stores the most up to date version of _every_ preset currently available. That means it holds both CNN presets and Transformer presets. So some games, even if you swap out the DLL file to the latest, still won't use the Transformer model and require extra intervention by changing a few settings in Nvidia Profile Inspector. In fact, many games don't even require the DLSS Swapper at all, since merely changing a few flags in nvidia profile inspector will allow you to bypass the game file version and use the latest version of DLSS already stored in the latest nvidia drivers. That's how the nvidia app DLSS Override works in the first place. However, within DLSS Swapper's latest version, you can use a cool setting that will help you figure out if you set it up correctly. Going into DLSS Swapper's settings, looking for "DLSS Developer Options" and from the pulldown menu select "Enable for all DLSS DLLs" and an overlay will appear next time you open any game with DLSS enabled in it, telling you what your current preset and version is. It should say "Preset J" or "Preset K" meaning you're on the correct version for DLSS4. If it says anything else, even if it has the latest DLL version, it's not DLSS4.

you can force the Transformer model with j preset. You can also fo around with the new CNN. I have not tried new CNN version in dlss 4 yet

If you have an old GPU, by all means get a 5000s. If you have a 4070/4080, there is a reason to change if you really want to. If you have a 4090, there is little to no reason to upgrade. The only way a 5080 beats the 4090 is with FG x3/x4, but the 5080 lacks the raw power the 4090 has, and it lacks Vram. If you like mods on your games, 4k mod textures, the 5080 is a no-go, but Nvidia did have to hold off on Vram, so there is another reason for a 5090. Usually, there are one or two games near the launch of a card that makes Nvidia say, "If you want the game to look like this, you must have one of these new cards" This time around, there is nothing. They are still using Cyberpunk to sell the cards. The games out this year are all well within a 4090s reach, and with DLSS 4, it's a done deal now. I, for one, someone who normally buys cards on launch, am skipping the 5000s and waiting for the 6000s.

@@AzizurRahman-zi6jn It's down to the games you play, what you want from your PC gaming and most importantly, cost. Some people hang on a few gens, some change every gen. My point for the 5000s is that there is a smaller reason to swap, and if you have a 4090, there is almost zero reason.

"Nuh-vidia". 😢 This now becoming the new "T I" vs "Tie"? It's short for Titanium, and even Jensen has repeatedly called it "T I". Just like he pronounces his company's name as "In-Vidia". Anyway, the Transformer DLSS model looking as good as it does even in Performance mode is why I just decided to skip the 50 generation that is pretty much a lemon anyway. On a 4080 Super, and I just decided to just upgrade from a 1440p IPS to a 4K OLED. I can wait it out until the 60 series, which should be more efficient, produce less heat and see more than a 30% performance boost. The real reason to get a 5090 is if you care about Path Tracing, which very few games currently have. Future games will, but by the time there's more than a handful, the 60 series will be here. The 50 series is the 20 series all over again, where you're paying early adopter tax for features not widely implemented yet. Difference being this time though is that the 5090 comparatively has a horrible price to performance.

@@DeeBatch Nvidia already stated last year Rubin aka 6000 series is late 25(computing farms)/early 26(gaming). So Jan 26 is true next gen from 4000 series by dropping to 3nm. I'm waiting till Jan 2028 for 2nm 7000 series. Then you will get a 5090 as a 7070 TI at 275watts.

That lossless scaling app is absolute dogshit. It's software frame gen, so latency and visual artifacting will be horrendous. It's for people with 30 series RTX cards and lower that don't have hardware frame gen support.

Sir. DLSS 4 is only fully supported on 50 series cards. Each version of DLSS (2,3, and 4) have hardware restricted features that the previous generation of card does not support. 40 series cards only support Single Frame Generation. Only the 50 series cards will support MULTI Frame Generation.
