Finally the vidoe I’ve been searching months for. Thank you so much I’ve been trying to decide but the lack of information online made it hard

Hi Bizon Thanks for the test and video. I'm not running blender, but chose the 3090's based on price/performance. I've had no issues/crashes, so far. Your logged temperatures are, to me, incorrect, as the A6000 reaches 66 degrees during peak(maybe even higher, as the video is cut), and not 62. I'm running a custom fan-curve for the 3090's, which have lowered the temps, while still being quiet. You can also gain a little more using MSI Afterburner. The blower style fans makes a bit more noise(rtx 8000), and gets fairly toasty under long renders. I would not recommend a stacked system, unless you have superb airflow and cooling. But, You are correct... The 3090's drain more power while working... on the other hand, i reckon they will be easier to get off hand, when it's time to upgrade (next architecture). Cheers, DD

What I love about the A series cards is there is no slot issue like with the huge 3000 series cards.

Yeah, and they're so much better for workstation workflows. Perfect for me

You should move around the scene (orbit camera) in Rendered mode instead of Solid mode. That would be the real test.

Perfect video dude! Exactly what I was looking for. And thx for incorporating the feedback from the previous videos! I would also mention another benefit that the A series offers, is ECC VRAM memory, which will be great for reliability. If you have many frames to render for animation for example and you let the PC render for a full night or days maybe, it wont crash. But I also have a question about these A series cards. Can you overclock them at all or no? With MSI afterburner for example? And lastly I would like to see a demonstration of NVLink with 2 3090's and two either A5000 or A6000. Blender is supposed to combine the VRAM's of two cards and pool them together. Cheers.

I’m pretty sure the a5000 is over clickable but only one 8 pin will limit it

MSI had a bug in one their version in which you could overclock Quadro cards. However it was fixed immediately, you can not overclock the GPU, all you can do vary the fan speed and the Watts by under volting. Check out "Igors Lab" on KZbin he made a video about it once.

Blower fans produce more noise, compared to three fans on RTX 3080 or 3090, right? In June of 2022, gpu prices and availability are back to normal. You should make an updated video. Thanks!

*Mounts fire extinguisher* let’s render! Nice test. Would love to see linkers scaling at work but yeah, hard to get those 3090s :)

for a budget "home workstation" (R9 3900x 24 cores + 64gb ram) what would you recommend A4000 or RTX 3080 with 12gb vram ? I work in After Effects and DAZ3d with nvidia iray render engine

buy 2 3090s, nvlink them. You have 48gigs of vram with twice the gpu horsepower. Also, greenwithenvy will give you at least 50 more watts on 3090s but with diminishing returns. It amunts to exatly 7.5% more frames in gaming, which is not bad at all.

Does loosing 8 lanes of PCIe when using a M.2 nvme effect the A5000 in anyway. Building some Watchout Servers and was wondering how this would hamper running 4 x 4k HAP files off of each server. I have 12 surfaces I’m projection mapping onto with 3 servers and a control machine.

1GB or 10GB is all the same for those cards. This didn't answer what happens if you have a scene that uses over 24GB of VRAM. Does the 3090 fail completely or run slower?

A5000 and A6000 are the only ones that come anywhere near 3080 and 3090. And they are all far behind 4080. Don't even bother with this A crap. Just get 4080 with 12Gb VRAM

@@kartikeysrivastava7864 im sitting on the 3070, I'm not making a model the size of america at the moment, so I'm not bad performance, although loading times do take a while, but when it comes to rendering, I have just finished rendering a high detail scene, each frame took about 13 of 15 seconds, so personally I'm good with that speed, and will try to keep the kidney until its actually needed to be sold ....
