Sorin, in order to make those graphics card repairs easier, i suggest you buying an mining riser. It will make a big difference.

as someone else said on here, a mining riser will make GPU diagnosis a lot easier, at least when testing for basic power rails & functionality. Specifically when testing the power sequence, you can even plug a few PCIE 8pin cables into your bench power supply and use them to power the riser and the card, without connecting it to a computer at all. This both allows you to monitor how much current the card is drawing, and limits the risk of a faulty card damaging your test system while still powering the card enough to check all the voltage rails

Sorin, long pcie cable is not so problem, it is the differential pair length matching that is important. You can have 1 meter but the individual data pairs still need to be very close length matched. As long as each lane is length matched. The match between the lanes can be huge difference and still work because the receiver and transmistters will adjust.

How about the warrenty ? This card is really modern and I think it is covered by a warrenty for sure. There is also a risk that the GPU chip will fail and without the warrenty the card will be useless...

you know to you can buy one more extender same like that and extend even more. also there is adapters from sata to 6 pin or 8 pin for testing and repair purpose its cool. Also there is minig extenders which are much better for testing longer cables etc

Hi, i have a laptop Lenovo with a 3050ti, i had 8gb single ram so i decided to put another 8gb. I discconected the baterry and put the ram. When i check the task manager i figure out that the nvidia gpu don't be detected. I tried to reset the laptop but Windows can't be reseted. What could be the problem? Thanks

Why this repair is so interesting? So at my workbench is the job of a desktop computer, as I-7 chipset, with Win 11. Fitted as to a lab bench and optics as modern micro scope with Am-Scope image software. Flawless performance in every way. Except with the graphic define as hardware, no sound. Intended as an upgrade to a desktop robust system, I have not been able to manage the intended desktop replacement as more powerful CPU, excellent and robust LAN connection with the natural image needs as where sound was lost. Testing, also as shown to Soren's bench, where connection and on board sound was lost in the GPU to board management as involved direct swap. Questions, such as would the board meet GPU needs, and where also, software drivers complete the difficulty as hardware-software management. My problem becomes the footprint, physical space....and where the various cable, intended as a direct replacement but with sound lost, becomes the solve needed but GPU to hardware, now confounding. And the interested observer, should take note I am happy to continue to try to solve any issue, with no direct problem except the goal to upgrade. That is to say, replace a robust desktop with simply larger features and the best processing speed, best graphics and various memory (natural to the system replacement as upgrade). One final note, I have the possible added value as simply place for test as side by side configure to link network, with minor MS Win 10 to Win 11 configure. The lesson as avoid "spark" is critical as I continue to test and upgrade....where a customer may face similar hardware issue. That care to various plug in card, to intended delivery as may contain real issue, fault and where non GPU component may be shown to difficult and slightly hidden problem. Not simply as a card fault, as in the lesson, but where GPU hardware can disrupt audio. Take note, this issue can be driven by the now unsupported Win 10 to 11 as customer base. Intended components with fault or difficulty, as a tech must beware. M.
