You only become the best by beating the best. Not showing up to a tournament doesn't automatically (or by default) define the one who does show up as being the best with a character. It just means you were the best there at the time. =)

Hmm, i think Knee didn't play his mains at global championship qualifiers. And it was character locked. He played Miguel on qualifiers i believe.
