Lovely Story! Funnily enough I was born the year Awdry died, 1997. Loved both is work and Christopher’s growing up! It’s what got me hooked onto railways!

I was born in Feb 1996 just a few days before he was given his special award. what Sir Handel and Duncan said reminds me of the historic complaints made by people who had complained about the lack of female engine characters in the books

As harsh as Sir Handel and Duncan's words were... they were right. Great Little Engines wasn't a very good book at all. But the final words they ever spoke to the Thin Clergyman... okay, that was really sad. Great job.

I can personally relate to this episode because it made me realize some errors I’ve made throughout my life. I’ve said some bad things to others and regretted them later on. This episode has taught me a valuable life lesson which I have taken for granted and that is: be carful about what you say to others just because you feel a certain way doesn’t mean you should take it out on others. And just because you have an opinion doesn’t mean others will agree with you everyone is entitled to their opinion you just have to be carful in how you express it and there’s a time and place for expressing opinions. This episode has also taught me about being assertive. That’s where you express your opinion in a critical way without offending others. I just wish others could realize and understand this. With all that being said keep up the good work NWR1991 and Rest In Peace Rev. W. Awdry (1911-1997).

This honours the memory of the great man who brought Thomas the tank engine and friends to us all. Thank you Wilbert Awdry. Rest in peace. This is a lesson to us all of being careful of what we say to elderly people, we never know when they would pass away.

He’s a great man. His stuff was in display at Tywyn Wharf from the Talyllyn Railway and Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends legacy still carries on to this very day. We’ll miss you, Wilbert. I hope you made your parents, your wife Margaret, your elderly children and your grandson Richard proud. I wish to meet a famous person like you. Rest in Peacefully Reverend Wilbert Awdry 1911 - 1997

An emotional episode! I too was shocked that Sir Handel and Duncan said their negative criticism to both Wilbert and Christopher Awdry after the publication of "Great Little Engines", and that does happen to most people when they say such things that maybe regrettable. This is also one of those rare times where the characters are saddened by Wilbert's passing. And you did a great job diving into that scene. Also, I hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm just curious to know if you have plans to have Spencer as the main lead in your series.
@NWR19912 жыл бұрын
I don't have any plans for Spencer at the moment.

Wow, amazing how it tied into Christopher Awdry's books, as well as the passing of Wilbert. 😢 To be fair, publishers did push Christopher. But this is a perfect moral about whether your words to someone are the last. 👍
