My Pride is Orlando..the team coordination was on point. I can watch that Marta goal all day long..she made me laugh, beating two defenders plus the goalkeeper.. That skill deserves a reward. Congratulations to team pride

This wasn't atypical of NWSL all season. For a couple of years now, FIFA has directed leagues to give more realistic stoppage times to counter time-wasting (for example, the 2022 WC had several games with 10+ minutes added to a half). The NWSL has consistently been telling referees to add actual time lost from subs, injuries, and VAR as well as tactical time wasting. MLS added time has increased, as has EPL, though not as much.

Watching these highlights I get the sense of champions league in the final stages---only that this is a one-way quarterfinal/semifinal, meaning there is no reset button to bounce back after losing at home. Game delivered on what we all expected.

@@RamSingh-cg2dn Full VAR costs each team in the EPL about $750,000 per year. VAR Lite significantly cheaper, but I'd guess still north of $250,000. That's not including modifications to stadiums for those that would require it, and I don't think that includes the cost of the 2 additional referees and 1 support staff. Even for a league where players are paid "quite handsomely" (the average player earns about $58K per year - with some as low as $25K - compared to the EPL's $4.5M average) that's a lot of money that can be put toward players and other needs.

That's how tthe game's been played for 150+ years, and there's no guarantee that VAR wouldn't have disallowed a goal, or changed a penalty decision, in that or another crucial game. We tend to think that the one thing that happened would inevitably made a difference if reviewed, but there were 89 other minutes that each team could have done something different to score or prevent a score. When looking at spending money, though, the league has to look at overall cost/benefit for all teams in all games, not just a single incident. At some point it will make sense, but apparently not yet.

Great game marred by shocking officiating once again. 20 minutes of added time is laughable considering a huge chunk of that was an absurd VAR review to gift a handball. Embarrassing, the referee was out of her depth all game.

With respect to the Supporters's Groups, the rest of Orlando does not deserve the Pride. That attendance is a pitiful showing in a home semi-final.

The attendance was 14524. Pretty much similar attendance as an Orlando magic game. The early kickoff affected the attendance. If this game was on a Saturday at 7pm, the attendance would be easily north of 20,000. Blame the NWSL schedulers and TV networks for the attendance not Orlando fans.

I was watching this game. First 30-35 minutes or so were Boring. I stepped out for 2 minutes to pee, and when I came back 2 goals were on the bored. are you kidding me? This happens when I watch Hockey also. lol I once missed all 5 goals in a game because I stepped away for a moment and they score.

@@eric_toomuch that's just your preference. sanderson speaks what's on her mind, is correct 95% of the time, adds good insight, and makes the call more fun. the nwsl is lucky to have sanderson on the commentary team. if you don't want any "yakety yak" or "nonsense" feel free to only watch the wsl, where they take commentators from the boy's academy games who don't know half the players names, spend a quarter of the game in silence, and do nothing but "call the game" -- if that's what you find enjoyable, you do you!
