2.40... I'd plug the rudder lead from the NX3 EVO into the receiver rudder output if I were you! You will not be able to do the combination stick command to calibrate otherwise! (Both sticks to down left.) You were just lucky that your "Emergency" elevator went the correct way! 😜 Also 11.45... If you don't select Yaw control from the NX3 EVO (as you have declined to do at 5.45) by Y dip switch to the right then you can use the Rudder Pass-through to operate the front wheel steering. Or you can just y-cord it from the receiver Rudder to the wheel servo AND the NX3 EVO Rudder lead. ( To get the calibration as stated.) At 14.10 you are trying the control directions from the transmitter sticks BEFORE setting the gyro pots for correct control direction. Not a good idea! Reversing any of the gyro pots to get the gyro correcting in the right direction will ALSO reverse the stick direction. Reversing the stick direction will have no effect on the gyro correction so do it last. EDIT!!.. Actually, while this is certainly true of 6axis gyros, when checking with the units in hand it DOES NOT appear to be true of the NX3 pro/NX3 evo 3axis stabilizers. Reversing the pots has NO effect on the transmitter stick directions! 17.30...Hard mounting the gyro to the plane frame without any double sided foam between them to allow a small amount of damped movement will make the gyro less effective and more prone to overload from excessive prop etc vibration through the frame. With this gyro you can set your modes via a 3-position switch, have the gyro pots set somewhat higher than you think that you will need and do a mix from the absolute value of your rotary switch via the "Multiplier" setting (easy on a capable OpenTX radio like the Radiomaster TX16S - not sure if you have nothing better than that Spektrum expensive rubbish. 😜) Apart from those small defects a good tutorial on the NX3 Evo. 😃

Dude, you have no idea how helpful this video was... i bought this gyro (well, i bought the NX4) for a P51 Mustang I built... which actually turned out PRETTY good... i bought it cuz i didnt wanna crash it on first try... and i just couldn't find a video which explained how to USE this gyro... now your video helped me out SO much setting this thing up... im gonna try it on a trainer i built a while back first, befote putting it on the mustang... because ive never flown with a gyro but it would be good to have a copilot when flying a plane ive spent several hours on... im kinda new to the hobby (just 11 flights into the hobby and i can FLY pretty well... cant land lol- i had 10 flights on my old FT mustang and 1 flight on this trainer...) gonna put the gyro on the trainer and see if I can get it to fly good... although, I do have a question... Is it ABSOLUTELY necessary to put it on the CG? Because my battery is on the cg of my trainer... best i could do it back near the trailing edge of the wing

@@andystoybox1723 i just dont have space where my CG is aha- well when i bought that FMS gyro, it HAD to be plane EXACTLY where the CG was... hence i though it would be the same with this... My CG is actually perfect after placing it to the trailing edge of the Wing... how's your experience on these gyros? Im really new and i bought this one cuz it was cheap- also, i subbed :)

in a perfect world that would be great .. but sometimes there isn’t a lot of space in the fuselage and you just need to find a good place for it … I have also , if necessary removed the gyro from the plastic casing to make it fit .. if cg is really off after installed you can composite by adding small led weights to lighter side ..

These gyros have worked great for me .. as long as you set up correctly.. always check the direction of control surface before first flight … control surfaces should move up whenever you tilt up ..

Well my ESC connector that goes to the battery broke off but imma solder it in a few minutes (its 1 am here)... i kinda wanna take it out for a flight tomorrow early morning just to see how it goes... hopefully it wont be too windy aha- Ive set the T to on cuz Im definitely a beginner and ive set the low gains for now... Also, i dont understand the "control surfaces should move up when i tilt up"? Like... for ailerons that would be the case but wouldn't it be opposite for the elevator? Im sorry im really new aha-

I have a plane with elevons and also a rudder. I have no idea how to set it up. The plane works correctly without the nx3 evo. I've tried different directions connections with the gyro and it just doesn't work . Any help would be appreciated..I'm also using a 4 channel flysky fs2a receiver. Thank yoy

Set your controller to normal wing and tail use the gyro for the mix .. you would have to move switch to delta on gyro

You cannot use a receiver with only 4 channels to control both a 4 channel plane AND this stabilizer. You need at least a 6 channel receiver to be able to control the modes and the "Emergency" mode. As Andy also says - you DO NOT do the Delta/V-tail mixing on the radio. That is done by selecting the switches on the stabilizer.

Yes you should still be able to , if you have a problem binding it with the button you can do it manually in the functions list or system setup that’s the way I bind my planes ... I power up my transmitter and then Select the model I am going to bind , I then power up my receiver and put it in bind mode with the button or bind plug if it doesn’t have a button , when the receiver starts flashing .. on your functions list or system setup you go to where it says bind and click it , it will tell you your rf will be disabled click again and it will bind 👍🏻👍🏻

Will these work on a nitro or a cox powered plane? Would the vibration be to much?

I have never tried them on nitro planes , but you should be fine The edf vibrates a bit when it’s on , works fine ,just mount with some foam double tape or rubber to absorb vibration and add a little extra glue .. start off with your gains really low … and go from there … when the motor is on look at your control surfaces .. they shouldn’t be moving ..

Awesome !! You set your master gain on the gyro with the screw driver .. a good starting point for me is like 30 percent .. and the knob is to lower the gain or to turn it off in case you need too while in flight..

When I install my gyro, as soon as I power it on and put it in a stabilization mode, the control surfaces actuate wildly and randomly and don’t seem to actually react to to planes attitude. Any advice?

Usually on start up when you plug the battery In The controls will twitch letting you know gyro is activated … is the red light solid when you plug in battery ? Make sure the gyro is mounted securely it cannot be moving around .. if controls are moving to much , you will need to lower the gain on the gyro ..

Ok you need to calibrate the gyro .. does your plane have a rudder ?

To calibrate have your transmitter on and move the dip switches on gyro T and Y to the left and switches d and v to the right side .. power up your receiver.. the gyro will start to flash slowly , when it does move both of your control sticks to the lower left like 7 o’clock position .. the gyro will stop flashing .. that indicates it has made a directional calibration.. unplug battery and put your dip switches back to the position you had them .. power receiver back up and it should work ..

Found it thanks, it's the potentiometer that dictates the sens of direction of the gyro sens.

I re installed it on a friends radio, OMG what a nuisance, you MUST couple everything up including Both Aileron cables and program the radio with both, and get the 'emergency' switch in the right place if not it wont work !, in my opinion it's not worth the bother if you are a normal RC flyer.@@andystoybox1723

Yes as long as you are using a receiver that is compatible with your dx9 ... if you want to turn the gyro on and off you would need a open channel on your receiver to plug in the aux to a channel , then you can set for switch or a turn knob .... if you don’t have a available channel on your reciever the gyro will still work , you just won’t be able to turn it on or off .. it will always be on when you are flying ..
