Finally a grouse hunt where birds aren’t being shot out of trees 🌲 or on the ground a, off a 2 track ! Hunting in those conditions, is one of the toughest hunts any hunter of anything can endure! Love the 🐶 , from a michigan bird hunter 50+ yrs English Setter guy !thanks for this Video.

GREAT video. I filmed some grouse hunting for the first time on my channel this season. NOT easy to pull off! I am from Wayne County in NY originally but live in SW Virginia now. Our bird numbers and forest management are TERRIBLE here but if you put the work in you can find a few spots where you'll find birds. I do miss hunting in snow like that where they actually sit once in a while. Good looking stuff and great dogs.

Thanks man appreciate the comment the NY and WV late season are a blessing to keep dogs active and get some of those snowy days. Conditions change the game for sure!

Do you know how old these cuts were? I might be hunting cover that's too thick. Nice video!

I don't NY doesn't mark the year of their cuts but I'm assuming there are 15+ year old cuts. Grouse will move to older cuts w/ thermal cover in the late season doesn't mean they are there all year though.
