It was King Adarkwa Yiadom, the Dwabenhene whose action gave Osei Tutu the courage to refuse the Denkyerahene's request for their wives of choice. Nana Adarkwa Yiadom was.the first of the Asante kings to refuse to have his choice wife go to the Denkyira king. He King Adarkwa Yiadom was the first to swear and declare that he will fight Denkyira. His choice wife was called Berebere. Osei Tutu's wife was called Amanie. Osei Tutu after hearing that Adarkwa Yiadom had refused to let his wife go also then refused to let his wife Amanie go to the Denkyirahene. He and the other chiefs in turn then swore to fight Denkyira, i.e followed King Adarkwa Yiadom's oath. Asantes and Asanteman have a lot to be grateful to King Adarkwa Yiadom of Juaben and the Juabens for. This refusal of Adarkwa Yiadom, led Osei Tutu to say this: s3 Berebere aama a, Amanie enso aama.

@@ericakesseh4608 Eric, Berebere was the wife of the Juabenhene, It was the Juaben King Adarkwa Yiadom who struck the messenger Abebrese dead and ordered the brass pan to be filled with stones and their fingers. He the Juabenhene then declared war by being the first to swear the war oath.

The Asantes history is very strong that no one can distort it in Ghana and in the whole of Africa because they are one of the greatest empires or kingdoms that have been able to hold and keep their traditions. This is reality that no one can discredit them. The more you hate them, the more they make it. Remember, they almost conquered the whole Ghana. @@legeneral9947 Aberewa's account of Asante history has some mistakes. For instance Berebere in her account was the wife of the Juabenhene, not the Denkyirahene as she states. Some of us come on here to give the necessary corrections. Asantes have a history, hence the need for accuracy at all times. I am a Royal of Asante.

His friend at that time whom he traveled to Denkyiraa with in the person of Amankwatia hinted him on the plans to kill him so they run and settled at Akwamu and it was there he met okomfo Anokye.
