Thanks for uploading a high quality version. It was a landmark event for break-dancing which was still relatively young in those days. Nice to see so many of that audience smiled, clapped and rose to their feet. It was something so different in their lives, so genuine, unique and still a little underground they knew it was special. We take it for granted these days but in those days this was revolutionary music, dance and culture which challenged peoples perceptions.

I loved hip hop, because it was inclusive and invited all walks of life into its tapestry. I grew up seeing all types of people displaying their talents and abilities. But somewhere down the line as I grew older, I have seen how racist it can be, and has become. Hip Hop is not Rap, it’s a movement inspired by and influenced by all races of people, not just one. It saddens me to see how ignorant it has become and how it seems it’s only based on how much of a criminal you can be and less on whether or not you have any talent to do any element to it.
@jeffreycousar12972 жыл бұрын
Exploitation and commercialization ruined hiphop. Even here they take the dance but leave out the DJ, graffiti writer and MC. But the birth of hip hop was from the black community. The Up-rock was taken from line dancing done in the BLACK COMMUNITY in the 20's. B-boying/B-girling was done by blacks first and the Puerto Ricans put it on it's back.
