TN Tropics lost a Sabal minor Louisiana this past winter, went down to -6F there. I guess you don't have any of those, they seem to be one of the most temperature sensitive. Garden looks really nice.

NYC hasn't seen -6 or lower since 1943!

@@ChrisDalton0099 TN has quite a few unprotected Sabal minors, that one was the only one to die I believe so it was the least cold tolerant. He says that they start showing damage at 5F, perhaps they will die at 0F or 5F.

Ever thought about growing palmetto? A variant like BHI would be a good zone push for your area.

@@ChrisDalton0099 I have a BHI and had a Mocksville. I planted my Mocksville in Rehoboth, Delaware since it’s a zone warmer. I don’t have a space for one in this garden…unless I start planting palms everywhere lol

Did the Spanish moss survive your winter? You must have very, very mild winters if it did!
@ShoeTELEVISION4 ай бұрын
Yes it did! I got them from Wilmington, NC which might be the most northern point naturally. If someone knows the correct info please let us know!

@@ShoeTELEVISION Unfortunately I don't know much about Spanish moss. I'm in northern Arkansas and winters can occasionally dip below the zero mark. More often our temps are in the low single digits. I use your channel as a gold standard for what I can grow. My next project will be to try and grow sabal palms which would look so tropical with my 7 ft tall elephant ears. Thanks for your channel! :)

@@ShoeTELEVISION AI says 'The northern limit of Spanish moss's natural range in North America is Northampton County, Virginia, though some say Virginia Beach may be the limit.' I don't know about that but I was on Roanoke Island in late July and the Fort Raleigh National Park had it all over the place, maybe because it was on an island.

i found a new location for you to check out, right across the street from the fire dept is the cherry hill library and there's bananas, sabal minors, and windmills. there is one HUGE windmill that almost towers over me and im 5'7. and you won't have to deal with firemen thinking ur crazy. i can't believe how many palms are in my area it's so weird but nice

@@nathanielalgernon975 someone stole one of my hanging baskets this past weekend. It’s not the safest spot but a lot of people in the neighborhood appreciate it.
