There is a sub genre of UK rap called Afrobashment or Afroswing where you hear that African/Caribbean influence. As black people in the UK vast majority of us are second generation so our parents/grandparents are from there. Also Jamaica has a huge influence on English culture so you hear it in all urban UK music particularly with our slang (even if they're not black).

pa is born in the uk but has gambian heritage like j hus which is why they sound similar because they use a mix of uk and gambian accent when they rap

Hahaha yo, she liked that! 🔥 UK has some banging tunes! Black British, there's usually a mix of Jamaican and African in the slang and swag.

Americans always get kinda confused when they hear music like this tbh i think. Its just a mixture of our cultures. When you mix uk urban culture, Caribbean culture and african culture from our heritage this is the sound you get. We call it afro swing but this is a more dark version of afro swing in my opinion

I think with more time, considering how many Americans react to UK music now they'll get it eventually.

I've never how to pinpoint UK Urban Culture when used alongside African and Caribbean culture, don't understand what the Urban part meant.

No black person is "from" the UK technically - we're British citizens but Africans/Caribbeans first since most are 1st or second gen. In this song you hear African, Carribbean and British. influences
