Hello. I just watched your Video in New York Great Video. I would like to give some History on The Island Transportation terminal there. My Dad help start up thst company in the late 50s early 60s in Westbury,New york Im 74 years old now and was about 13 14 years old when I started going with him. The entire fleet was Mack b- 61 6 wheel tractors even a few h model can overs. The owner had the money and my dad had the trucking brains behind it my Dad started up the Carterat terminal on nj in 1965 he was ther until 1970 had a heart attack and became his dispacher. Never let me become a driver. Wanted me to be a laywer. Go figure. Oh well. I hope you write back. I got a lot of storys to share

Great video mike. Nice to see you in my old neighborhood. Van street in Staten Island where your buddy kept his truck was a old trucking company called Frank Murphy and sons. They used to haul sheetrock for the United gypsum company that had a plant in Staten Island. As a kid we used to hang around there yard on Van street and play on the old trucks. They had old Mack chain drives and thermodynes from the fiftys.Those were the days. Good to see you out with the family.Happy holidays,peace and grease and keep on truckin.🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛.Iggy p

Mike, I worked for Smith's Transfer in Seekonk, Ma. across from the Seekonk Speedway back in the 60's, 70's & 80's. On Route 6 was Smith's Transfer, Red Star then Plymouth Rock. Also, Yellow, Spector, Trans Con, and Shuster Express. Plymouth Rock handled a lot of textiles. Mike, I always say, those were the good days of trucking.

Member the Kosciuszko used to be steel grate.. VRRRRRRR sounds . Ya now NYC has all speed and red light cams allover the place is crap now big change after not going through that mess anymore for years.. Oh yea On Kent was the old Dominoes sugar place. Think they are trashing it and making it into more yuppie urban sprawls . I was looking up Sugar in the Raw and Sweet n Low they are on Cumberland street Not sure if Dominoes sugar even operates in NYC anymore

The City on the holidays and weekends is definitely different. Especially if the weather is nice. Everyone gets out of town if they can. That's fantastic you're showing the inside of the neighborhood. The yards and gates and flower beds.

BT-Express, I thought you had more subscribers than Dauminique, BTW, when you were up there driving her Rig, that was classic at the end when you filmed her driving away; it really showed how sharp her equipment really is. Question 🙋♂️? If your wife and daughter were with you, why did you eat breakfast alone at that restaurant? Just Curious.

That driving around and looking at companies I do also , see what the commute is like when or if I hear back, went to check out a boat ramp that I could see from the northway near the Adirondack welcome center and passed cranesville block which I applied to not that specific yard but it was cool to see what they’re running all I saw were kenworth rear load , guess the front load around here is phasing , palette still runs them

Great vid Mike .. I have to agree about the height markers. Why is that allowed? There’s useless govt at its best. When I first started running New York 30 yrs ago I remember running into that problem and getting all twisted up tryin to find another route. I was told they do that to compensate for snow, dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
@TheBostonTrucker11 ай бұрын
I never heard the snow thing before, I can't imagine that's why but very interesting theory.
