So I take it that you don't have your picture added to your profile. Because they already require it. But what no one is talking about is when you get your lyft or Uber the driver ISN'T whose pictured. I had a Debbie as my driver female of course and a MAN pulls up. I instantly canceled my ride and reported it. I've also had the same scenario with a female name on the account and 2 men pull up. Again, instant cancelation and report. I'm a female and take safety seriously. But these companies are just as complicit as the thieves. Doordash and postmates don't get a pass either. I don't open my door until they leave. I record through my ring camera when they drop off. I'm not saying that women don't share apps with a guy friend. But more times that I've personally been involved with a man shows up using a woman's name. JMO.

This is why unions were formed in the first place and they were useful and many became too powerful and started being bad as well. Some regulation is good but we are a capitalist country and the market will usually fix itself. Some jobs aren't meant to be careers and likely can't pay for a family like in the 50s when a high school education and a factory job could feed a family and buy a home. Forcing this supposed equity just kills the market and nobody wins. The government can't function without taxes and eventually they will run out of taxes and raise them but that can't work forever so a free market with as few regulations as possible is good for innovation and usually provides a means for people willing to work for it. However in a socialist system the few that are lucky or willing to work for it have to pay for the unlucky and the lazy alike.

They need to stop overregulating these businesses, but this all started with drivers complaining about pay. When you accept a job and aren't happy with the pay, get another job instead of trying to force the companies to change. When you start forcing them to pay more, it always has a negative trickle down effect. The constant pursuit of fair pay is hurting more people than it's helping. Companies will always pass any extra overhead fees to the customer with higher prices. Who would want to drive in NYC or CA with soft on crime laws and extremely high prices to drive and live?
