Yes!! 'Johnny Pump' (nicknamed after the inventor-John Giraud) was what my grandparents said when referring to a fire hydrant. The 1st time I heard 'fire hydrant' as a kid, I had no idea what that was!! 🤣 The bottom line in NYC is, sarcasm is key!! Other New Yorkers know exactly what you mean! 😄 This was GOLD and a lot of fun! Thanks for clearing up 'NYspeak' for out-of-towners! 😊 🤗🤗
