NYC's Oldest Airport

My grandfather lived in Brooklyn and attended aviation high school at Floyd Bennet Field in the 1930’s. He never became a pilot, but he loved aviation. It was he that inspired me to become a Pilot for the major airline that is based over in Newark. I went over to Floyd Bennet Field back in about the year 2,000. I walked around in the terminal building, looked at the old runways and hung out at the HARP building. I called my grandfather ,who was still alive at that time, and described his old haunt.

That’s so sad! I’d love to travel Intl from home, Brooklyn! I recently went past it. I didn’t know it existed and wondered why was it abandoned like that? Probs Nixon had a friend with a construction contract over at JFK 😂
