Utilizing space with shelving, containers, and having drawers is a good way to help. Also getting rid of unused items or moving them to a location like a shed, basement, or attic frees up lots of space. As far as keeping it clean tools like a good vacuum, broom, and duster as well as making sure all items have a designated space, is the best and only way to keep a room clean :)

I love how the space is meant to be interactive. Entering is a stimulating experience where everything can be intervened, touched and enjoyed. It is a sensory experience of complete disrespect for the productivity of the capitalist system. A space that fulfills the function of inspiring and generating chatter. This home is a completely artistic installation that laughs at itself and makes fun of the concept of "house" as a functional space.

It's always wanted to see what has come of this place as I grew up in the building; my parents owned it in the 80s until 1992, after my father passed and my mother sold the building, and we moved out to Long Island. I'm impressed you know as much about the history of the building and storefront as you do. The building has some subtle changes from when I was there, but not much, which surprised me. The building was built circa 1920s. My parents owned the building in the 80s, so I grew up in that building. Back when I lived there and grew up in that building, it was a 2 family building. There was a door that went from the hallway/entryway of the residence-side where the side door on 54th Pl is, into the laundromat but my parents had it sealed off to rent the laundromat out. I still remember the 1950s brownish almost-Formica-like coating on the stairs and the dark brown 1940s-esque wood paneling in the apartment hallway. I'm happy to have run across this just to see it again and what's come of it.

Hands down this is my favourite apartment so far. I love this man's chill vibe and his eclectic apartment. Love that everything inside was given free. Shows you can have a cool place without spending a lot of money. The whole apartment is just wonderful an full of whimsy. 30/10!

I love this I lived in an old Barber shop 💈 and it was totally a hand built place in the back . It was inexpensive and totally illegal then the landlord tripled the rent and off I went . He could never rent it out again because it was not zoned or built correct so the building went to condos .Fun for awhile though .

Family members of mine owned the house directly across from here just 5 years ago or so. The building was a laundromat and then a bs juice/smoothie shop for a while. Not sure how it got so ugly and run down so quickly... (They owned said house for a long time, so I spent a lot of time across from this laundromat, funny to see ppl living in it).

People are usually no allowed to convert a complete commercial space into residential dwelling with out some kind of special condition and permission from the community district and the Buildings Department.. that would definitely help to solve our homelessness situation.

Holy Doodle, I love this place so much. I had the same circular green couch, but it was the complete set. I so regret giving that away when I moved out of Toronto. That swing! Damn, there's so much to see here. This guy has the most impressive place to live and it even resembles the chaos in my apartment, but I bet his place is a titch cleaner 😅 Lockdown did a number on me; I rarely cleaned up after myself and I'm slowly getting things in order.
