I went to New York in 88 with my junior high art class and got to see the last of the trains running. Priceless

I remember that era well. It gave the impression that things were out of hand.

I wish I grew up in New York during the '70s and '80s just to witness the genesis of hip hop. I always compare this genre to jazz, because it got its grassroots start on the urban streets, too and the do-gooders hated it just like they hated hip hop.

I first visited New York in July 1982, then moved there the following September. I thought the subway graffiti was awesome! That, along with the seedy, dangerous, (but exciting) Times Square WERE NEW YORK CITY!!!

I've been looking for old episodes of 30 Minutes forever. Any chance to get a clean copy of this without the intrusive "Hezakya News" splashed across the bottom center portion of the screen?

I'd love to see more episodes of 30 Minutes. See, sonny, back in MY day, our kids' news shows didn't talk down to their audience.

I somewhat agree with him. On the outside it can sometimes be pretty. Inside its a nuisance.
