I feel bad for the homeless people in the New York City subway. I saw homeless people at 125th street, when I was taking the 4 train bound for Woodlawn, in the Bronx.

Is there a difference in the motor sound between an R62 and an R62A? Considering that they were built by different companies and Wikipedia says they have different motors. Does anyone know which one is which if there is a difference?

The R62 uses General Electric motors, which are quieter at high speed and higher pitched. The 62A is a bit louder and deeper, using WestingHouse motors
