NYC Subway: Summer on the IRT Pelham Line - Part 2

Part 1: • NYC Subway: Summer on ...
This is the second and final part showing the IRT Pelham Line in the summer of 2015.
This part is filmed later in the evening as the sun is setting. It begins at Westchester Square - East Tremont Avenue station (where a party is going on nearby).
From the north end of the station one can get spectacular views on the flyover and the access tracks to the Westchester Yard. This is where 6 trains sleep at night.
The second half of the film is shot at Middletown Road in the neighborhood of Pelham Bay; one station closer to the terminal at Pelham Bay Park. The sun has already set, and you can see some 6 train action in the beautiful warm summer evening light.

well I work the 6 line six days a week we had to get used to the return R62s..worked out for me got rid of my competetion most train operators picked 2,4,5,7 or retired! I have 18 years and now I am one senior guys at oelham now.....we are down to five R142s now

Since when did the R62/R62a trains start running on the 6? I never saw them run on the 6 line train when I was a kid living in New York. (I just live close now, in NJ)

YoImShepard well to be fair the 6 train was using these trains even before the r142 trains came out. In the 1990s the 6 train had the r62 and the redbird trains. They changed it all to r142 and now swapped a big portion of r142 to convert them to r188 for the 7 line

The 8 Thrid Avenue Elevated line definitely needs to come back so let's keep it 100% real on that. even though they torn down the Third Ave Elevated line down the 8 still exist today. That's the reason why they have those 8 signs on the R62AS and plus the 9 12 13 11 10 12 signs on them if you ever notice that. I have a real spriital feeling that the 8 Thrid Avenue Elevated is coming back one day I'm telling you.

Supervisor at the time. Ad I believe it was Lo-V's on the wash train. GEEZ! Long time ago ha ha. I think I also got on the 3rd Ave L but don't really remember. I also remember getting to drive a PATH train. it was all legal, A transit supervisor was with me touring the system,

Lol it would be impossible for a train to run without traction motors. These have Westinghouse traction motors which are quiet but u can hear them if you listen closely
