RIP Biscuit, the howling West Highland White Terrier in the video who is being comforted by dancers, she was my dog (my mom is one of the pianists here). On the day that was filmed I was supposed to get to the ballet at 3 to dog-sit but was running late so Mom had to leave her with some dog-friendly dancers but she wouldn't stop crying!! Some of the most beautiful human beings in NYC petting her and she does nothing but complain. She was a hilarious, dramatic dog and I miss her

"I went to the pet store" (2:54) I wish she had said "shelter" Most pet stores get their dogs from puppy mills. And there is a You tube video about the ties of NYC pet stores to puppy mills. There are many pure bred animals in shelters. And many others who are sweet and loving and talented. Morris, the 9 lives cat, came from a shelter in Hinsdale, Illinois. Please get your pets from shelters. To shop at a pet store will cause cruelty to many breeding cats and dogs.

+TheChats02 Pet store may have been a euphemism for shelter, and even if it wasn't many pet stores only have rescue animals. All of the cats at PetSmart are from rescue groups.

@@volz519 , PetSmart stores specifically have been exposed as having their dogs and cats from horrific puppy mills! And anyway, little glass cages where they're kept in pet stores are NOT a suitable environment for puppies and kittens to be kept in all day! A dedicated home environment (like a foster home or a responsible breeder) is much better for their development. If someone truly wants to get a dog or a cat, they should be committed enough to visit them in their home environment, ideally a few times before adopting, to meet the mum and talk with their human carer about the puppy's/kitten's needs and how they're going to sufficiently fulfill those needs.
