Pearl was going to be far less motherly, and her songs weren't scripted to be so emotional, but when Dee Dee recorded "It's Over Isn't It", they had to redo the storyboard in order to make sure the animation captured the depth of emotion. Dee Dee has said her voice for Pearl most closely resembles her "mom voice" she uses with her kids. Rebecca has said that the lives Zach, Dee Dee, Estelle and Michaela brought to their characters far exceeds visions she had for them, that they brought them, and the show (along with the rest of the cast, writers, storyboarders, musicians, staff), to a level she couldn't even imagine and that the show really was made by every single one of them together.
