I really enjoy your videos they are practical and very chilled out. You’re not going for the crazy $50 hotdog or just showing us the most expensive/most likely to go viral food. Your giving us a realistic look at if you come to New York here’s the best options on a regular budget to have an amazing time. I’ve been to New York twice and really enjoyed all of the good street food I was able to find. I’m coming back in May and I want to find at least 1 of the spots you’ve gone to and try it. Everyone likes to compare food that you get in public versus what you get at the grocery store. People will pay that amount of money, which is why it cost that much. You expect to pay more in New York City than you do in any other city in America excluding Vegas. It’s market price
@beingemma27 күн бұрын
I appreciate this breakdown. As someone who is looking to do this market the actual market is only until Jan 4th not March. So they are running for only 3 months I believe the rink and all that stays till March which is part of the winter village. Unsure if the food vendors stay longer, but I do not believe so. But I agree a lot of it is brand awareness/advertising.

I've gone in twice already mostly to take pics for tourists by the tree. I love the brat stand and the Portuguese egg tart place! You can't go wrong with a crepe. I won't do the strawberry and chocolate thing. I'm not fond of that combo and the price doesn't justify the small cup of strawberries. There's the famous one at borough market in London. Larger cup and cheaper. Years ago I talked to someone who rented a stall and I want to say the rent was $10k/month. Some of the food places are really popular with crazy lines like the raclette sandwich. When people talk about where to go, I keep sending people to the Portuguese egg tarts. OMG no chewing allowed got a decent amount of money from me this year. My nieces really like it. Still trying to find good hot chocolate. Lol I was tempted to get pickles but that was crazy busy too.

@@NYCHotDogStands Not sure if it 25K + the 10% revenue or either/or option. Wish I could find that video again. But it does say this in the agreement contract when getting a booth - Vendor rental agreements will be issued as the greater of "base rent" or a minimum of 15% of net sales, whichever is greater. Vendors will be required to submit daily sales via. a third party software approved by Urbanspace.

In this video he is talking and walking in BRYANT PARK, on 42nd Street looking at these different booths, and because it's cloudy,with the threat of storms coming in, most people are opting out,and just going home, but when it comes to street festivals, food related, it's actually very expensive, for example they want 3 bucks for a hotdog, and some crazy number for a burger, so I in all probability won't go, because they are all just TOURIST TRAPS,and as a NEW YORKER, to see is to believe it,and I am not going to fall for a GIMIC,or a absolute Joke,not worth the time, energy, or the commute time, not withstanding the money spent on things that I can make myself at home, besides the sun starts going down at 3:30,and at 4 PM, it's already dark, the days are very short in the winter months, which is a given fact.
