Make sure you are using the selection tool- which is the black arrow or pointer. Not the white arrow, which is the direct selection tool.

This tutorial don't include how to create open zipper, computer is supposed to make life easier, I find computer does nothing but add stress in life. I like the old fashion way, do it by hands. I tried create an open zipper, obviously it's not working.

I know it can be frustrating, but this is how it is being done in the industry now. It takes much longer to do it by hand, especially when making corrections. This tutorial is about making Zipper Pulls, not brushes but I can make one if that is what you are requesting.
