This is one of the only songs that I've found that truly reflects upon the games true majesty. Other songs like the original minecraft (song) and haggstrom bring out and complement its simple beauty, and others like mice on venus shows its darkness and sadness, but this song truly completes this game with tunes to match its majestic scenery and really feels like it symbolizes just how large the world around you is. It is no longer just a game, it is a world, which is filled with wonders beyond imagination, each crafted with the most intense care so that every time you play, you see something new.

This reminds me of years back when I played minecraft. I'd always leave it running on the menu when I wasn't using, so I could still listen to the music. I had a loft bed, so my desk was under my bed, with my computer. So I'd go to bed every night listening to the menu music. But this was the only one that stuck out to me. There is a kid out there who is homeless, has a dead parent, became terrible addicted to drugs, and got caught up in the gang life. But before all of this happened, as a little kid he played Minecraft. I figured this out because we were in the hospital together. I was miserable, crying for the first day, couldn’t eat anything, wondering how I became so messed up. But then he started whistling this song, and I looked him right in the eye, and started whistling along with him. He would get in trouble by staff for talking (since we only had 30 minutes of time to converse), but when we whistled, the staff couldn’t stop us. The spell was broken. We were both making the music of our peace, our childhood, in the middle of the hall, where no one was allowed to talk. I excelled in group afterwards, and so did he, I began to see hope. He finally found a friend in this lonely world, who didn’t judge him by his awful past, but by one moment in time. All of the other kids there began to appreciate him as well. I am not allowed to mention his name, because of confidentiality laws, but he’s out there, and I dedicate this song to him. I don’t know how much longer I would’ve stayed in that hell if it wasn’t for him. The day I got discharged marked his third week in the hospital, so he’d seen over a dozen kids come and go. But when I left, he looked me in the eye, and despite his joking, crazy nature, he mouthed “stay well, my friend” I was bawling on my way out, my mom was so confused. I told the staff everything, and they promised they would tell him he made a real difference, when all he thought was that he was dead weight to the world. He wasn’t, he is a living legend. I never would’ve thought a video game could give so much power, but it can. If he’s still out there, this one goes to him.

My Grandmother who just recently passed away was a huge part of my life growing up. I liked gaming at an early age and every chance I got, I would include her in gaming with me. The day of the rosary, before they cremated her, as we were leaving the funeral home I put my ear buds in and hit play. 1:05 Makes me think of a simpler time when I was younger, where I'd stay up late until like 5AM with friends to make progress on something in Minecraft. It reminds me that time is, in fact, a thing. I remember those times fondly, as my online friends and I have grown apart after so long, and although we're all doing good and still talk here or there, it makes me slightly sad, yet happy that we were once all together, playing in Minecraft as if we were all next door neighbors. It reminds me that Minecraft, and video games in general, hold memories so God damn well, and I'll always cherish my time on this wonderful, innocent game. Back when this piece was first introduced to the game, I felt disappointed whenever I heard it because I thought it was meant to replace the original Minecraft title track from Volume Alpha (and little did I know that it could still be heard while playing in Survival Mode because I basically only played in Creative Mode) so I could not appreciate it so much at the time.
