NYCT/MaBSTOA | 2009 - 10 Novabus LF60102 LFSA Review [Remastered]

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone🦃 ! I pray that you all have a safe illness-free meal amid the consistent atmosphere of COVID-19.
This is a remastered review of these classical LFS from 2009-10. These were brought to NYC, as NY's first new articulated buses since 2005. And NovaBus becomes a new source for artics and low floor series since the late '90s. They were delivered to Gun Hill and Kingsbridge depot, to partially retire the 1996-98 D60HFs and to cover the Bx12 +SBS in the beginning. And since Mother Clara Hale got re-established(after 126th street closure), the former 126th street LFSAs got to MCH after they were wrapped in 2010. And during their wrapping in 2010, the M15 +SBS was implemented in turns to replace it's local and limited service. Since their delivery until today, these have been stuck being MaBSTOA buses in both Manhattan & the Bronx. Forgot to mention, since 2017, these buses were repainted and unwrapped. Then in 2018, these received the interior Vianova screens. In 2019, due to the delivery of the 2019 XD60s and the transfers with the 2012-13 XD60s; these LFSAs were brought to the Bronx to expand the LFSA spotlight. And 2 years later, I got to see these again in Grand Concourse near the Yankee Stadium.

Nice Review. Fact: Back on 11/29/2015 when the Q44 +SBS debuted, the flashing blue lights on the sides of the exterior signages on the front top of the bus due to strobe lights being used on first responders vehicles so they (the MTA) has to use the blue signage with the writing on top of it on the exterior signages instead.

2:15 That year was when the Bx12 SBS began service. Also, every artic route of MaBSTOA was using D60HFs as well as the Bx12 SBS; before they got LFSAs

1201 was retired in August 2019, leaving 1200 as the oldest unit at KB Depot. However, 1200 was retired in April 2023, leaving 1202 as the oldest unit at GH Depot.

Happy thanksgiving bro thanks for this also I miss these on my home route m15 from the engine sounding like a race car when the driver accelerates to the blinking blue lights man time flies I remember when the6 were being tested and training drivers sheesh and it’s sad how buses get to the bx and go straight to hell smh

Cool review! Here is smth if u know or not so 126 st depot had 2011-13 LFSA (not a lot) it was for the M60 with luggage racks and i don’t know why the mta sent the bx41 sbs to gun hill and keep the bx41 lcl and kings bridge

Rode these on a lot of kingsbridge bus routes and m15 also rode these on the bx12 and bx41 sbs before GH had it then a lot more local routes.

7:24 Hale currently uses XD60s after 2019 started. However, it has LFSAs from 2017-18 because of roof repairs at Quill.

I love the attics all we had at Hudson Pier was RTS at Tuskegee Airmen Depot we had a variety but both depots were good to drive out of

I’ll miss them when they retired I used to think they weird and cool due to front shape and the back window especially the Nova RTS due to their front window and rounded shape

They were fancy for me in the beginning. Until more LFS since 2015 was coming in, these first generation ones ended up being quirky compared to the newer generations
