Wow that is a LOT of scale!! Cool to see you using the jetter for the first time. Sorta dangerous having it running and have to run inside fast, eh? Haha. Don't have a reel close on hand like Ollie I guess. You using that jetter to remove a heap of scale was impressive. Job very well done Donald! Those pipes will be much healthier after this

Omg the homeowner was telling you how to do your job right from the gate! You're such a professional. Again, I wish I could find a great plumber in south jersey. I've had 3 different companies in 8 years I've been in the house and they've told me conflicting advice and info. One said its ok to use acid..the others said absolutely not to. One said I should re-route the whole piping system to the mains but the other 2 said something way different. I could give like 3 other examples. Latest problem was my shower/tub and bathroom sink was very slow draining and one joint (right after an elbow-like turn) in the basement would leak. The guy came in with a plunger, had me plug the sink drain and plug the overflow hole in the sink, he plunged the bathtub drain and it started flowing great! He got a bottle of glue and dabbed it on the WRONG joint in the basement, then said "👍🏻 all good" and left. The bill came and it was $487.00!!! What?! But ok. He was here maybe 15 mins and glued the wrong joint lol. He just used a plunger! I really hate complaining about the cost but that was just a tad ridiculous IMO. I thought 200 tops. But that bill shocked the hell outta me. Obviously I just paid it and didn't complain. It did make me wish I had a man lol. After all it just needed a plunge. Btw I did plunge it but didn't plug the overflow so duh!

NYC uses a lot of old lead and steel pipes that literally rust from the inside out. Have you ever had a line collapse or break in the ground after you jet it because it was rusted all the way through? My guess is no because the pipes have very thick walls.

Cast iron piping was the standard used in homes up until the 70s, and still is in some places still allowed but a majority of construction and retrofitting since the 70's has been ABS or PVC.
@joem53324 жыл бұрын
Yes all the scale inside of cast iron will eventually start to leak either by a hole or a cracked pipe? It’s amazing going to a job and the cast iron is cracked the length from hub to hub.

I should throw in almost all of the original cast iron installed in homes is at or has exceeded it's design lifetime. Alot of people are going to be facing whole home pipe replacement or relining if possible in the next decade.

I love when a homeowner says " I think we should" Like they're going to do anything other than get in the way and make dumb remarks! Whenever I hear a customer say "We" I always ask "We who, you and the cat?" It either gets a laugh and the point across or a sneer and some mumbling. But at the end of the day they always have a smile because there ain't shit backing up all over their floor anymore. You work on the island too?

Bad call mate, no control over the jetter mate, you need extra reel with hose, pressure gauge and valve mate. This one here work it back from the house trap, you made the home owner add 2 flush to the problem mate and with-out a valve to control the jetter it almost backed-up on you upstairs mate.......... and the shitty hose out off the toilet all over the room.
