Wow that was one flooded basement! You needed your swimming gear Donald! I like you walked in, within a minute knocked the cap off and it all drained out haha. When you **Finally** got the second cap off there was a huge gush of water. You did a great job though, lots of scale buildup caught in the trap!

Hi from the uk! great channel..your plumbing is very very different to ours ..i cant believe how common cast iron pipes are over there and this is the first video ive seen where the trap 'box' is properly cement lined and not just loose earth and stones..so much easier to clean when it floods. Why dont they normally cement them properly?
@NYDRAINS3 жыл бұрын
Hey 🇬🇧, it all depends on the homeowner, the pit is usually forgotten about usually until they have a problem . I did run Into a few tidy looking pits. Thanks for watching 👍

Could you please axplain to me how US sever solution works. You have two plugs on the same line/pipe as I assume in the sever "manhole". so why after opening one of them all the water gone? There is a partision between those plugs ot what? Thanks for info.

Two caps, two lines considered in and out separated by a u trap 🌳------u------ 🏠 And if the out line is clear when I pop the cap open the excess water will drain

She is lucky her basement floor is pitched towards the trap, it clear a lot of the water once the plug was open.
@deineroehre4 жыл бұрын
Thats how the floor is supposed to be in the basement, slight angle towards the drain. Makes life much easier in the event of a flooded basement.

You would think they would make those caps threaded so they could be unscrewed
@ocsrc4 жыл бұрын
Do they make PVC caps ? Are they better than the other caps that are on there ?
@paulf25294 жыл бұрын
@@ocsrc the issue is the threads of the pipe u trap itself will be just as coroded as the old plug, hence why he had to tap the new plug in.
