No matter how your stands is on Ronald Reagan, i think this ad should be the gold standard on what a great political ad should be. Tell us about the great things that our country has achieved and what great things are awaiting us in the future. Most political ads these days are based on fearmongering and "other side bad" without actually saying what great things they do.

Totally agree. I am a huge Carter fan. I'm from England but went Plains Georgia last year because I really admire President Carter and I know this advert was from Walter Mondale challenging Reagan but this advert it superb. It is very emotional but in a good way. Really speaks to a voter. His team did very well on this.

There were 56 people shown, and although its hard to tell, it appears that about 52 were caucasion, 1 was asian, two were Hispanic or Native American, and one was Black. That certainly would not have been relfective of the population at that time. If that were the case there would be about 6-7 Black Americans in that video instead of one.

And at the very end it does explicitly say, "Why would we ever want to return to where we were less than four short years ago?" with the unspoken ending "... when a Democrat was in charge? I was preparing to enter the world of living on my own soon and hoping Reagan so we don't go back to foolish weak leadership and economic turmoil.
