Super sad to hear and see the majority of Hmong or Hmong couples work so hard yet never enjoy their lives when their loved ones are alive - only realize and regret after one is dead. My husband and I have been dating since High School. Once we completed undergraduate and graduate schools, we married, worked, traveled, and finally conceived after ten years of scientific help. The minute our first daughter arrived. We took her and traveled as much as possible, both in the USA and out of the country. When our second and final daughter came - we continued to go on trips and have fun. By the time our oldest daughter turned 12, and our youngest daughter turned 9 - we had traveled to most major cities and continents. We set foot on famous beaches like Fiji & Bora Bora, plus many no-name beaches. We saw small islands on all corners of the four oceans, such as the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, and Arctic. We visited European historical architects and towns, American national parks, monuments, and buildings, waterfalls (including Vitoria Falls in Africa), and many other famous falls. We then started hiking - our 3-4 or 7 days backpacking trips with our daughters on the soil of our beautiful USA and Canada alpine mountains, valleys, lakes, and running creeks, even in the middle of the Grand Canyon (the Havasu Falls/Creeks/Confluence of the Colorado River) along with Alaska Frontier, the Weeping Wall of Hawaii, the Appalachian Trail of the first 13 States of the US, to the country of Peru at Machu Picchu, Mount Fuji in Japan, the wild of the Himalayas Trails, the Great Wall of China to the Angel Landing in Utah, the Safari ride in wild Africa, Iceland lava land and countrysides with tallest waterfalls and biggest geysers plus so many more nature joys before our firstborn entered college. And today, we still travel! Either just the two of us or with our 22 & 19 years old daughters whenever they can because they are young and have less flexibility than my husband and me. We had road-tripping everywhere from the USA to South America. We would make 1-7 trips (the 3-4 or days trips) and 3 huge trips (the 2-3 weeks trips) per year. We only live once on this earth, so why not use our hard earn money plus vacation time and enjoy every inch of this fantastic globe? We live in a country where we all have set aside retirement funds for old age needs and carry 100 to million dollars of life insurance coverage that can bury or burn us. Don’t just sit there and get drunk; get face reputations in the Hmong community. Get out and experience a real-life journey….so when that last day on earth comes, you don’t come to Niam Ntsuab Teev Channel and cry your heart out, wishing to turn back time!

You have been very lucky sister. Bless your family. I pray that the pol who can, will be able to do this. I have been a single mom most of my children’s lives and did my best to raise them by myself. COVID took my health since 2022 and now it will be even harder for me to be able to do anything. But I believe God has a plan for everyone and I hold on to that belief, I will one day be able to travel the world now that my kids are older.

@krystalyeu799 Жыл бұрын
@@yangxwb6493 Thank you for commenting on my opinion thread - I never said life is easy; each of us struggles in different types and stages. But we live in a country where opportunities are within reach, and anyone can obtain them, including you. I still remember how much my husband and I hate eating the four cans of Campbell soup and the three cups of Maruchan ramen noodles on sale every Wednesday for one dollar per set. We would stock them - and this is our eight years journey where all my boyfriend (now husband) and I could afford to eat during our undergraduate and graduate schools. We attend college, and each of us works two part-time jobs to survive. No Hmong kids in the late 80s and early 90s to late 90s were spoiled because every Hmong parents were super poor. The question is: Do you commit and dedicate enough to achieve your goals and enjoy real life, aka the American dream? We never knew what sitting in a restaurant was like in those early days. Every penny we earned was for rent, books, food, etc. Student loans are up to our heads, but we never give up, and that is how we reach our dreams. We don’t spend 20-30K or 30-40K on our wedding day and graduation ceremony. We put this amount of money into cheap houses and live mortgage free. We don’t care about the 500K or 1 million dollar homes. We rather earn residual incomes from our multiple properties. We don’t spend 4-5 hundred dollars at the clubs/bars buying beers each night on the weekend. We have never touched or bought blue/red-label liquors to impress our friends and relatives; we reside in the 2nd largest Hmong population State in the US that parties hard every weekend, yet we never set foot in any of those Hmong places even though we drive by every day. We are not stingy, but we know our money’s value, treat our loved ones, relatives, and friends on the right occasion, and ensure that our treatment shows them how much we love and appreciate them with great memories. And this is how we have lived and enjoyed life for 30-plus years. P.S. the smell of Campbell soup and any ramen noodles is what I still hate the most today. I never eat them ever again since the day I finished graduate school. Also, my husband doesn’t touch Campbell soup anymore, but he still eats ramen noodles here and there as long as it is not a Maruchan brand. LOL!

I am so sorry for your loss brother. You are probably around my age and I sympathize with you and your children❤. I understand why you moved on so quickly after the death of your wife since your children are still so young but i believe that you are still grieving. Your children are still grieving for their mom. Marrying your current wife at such a time is also not fair for her as well. I really do hope that she is patient enough to help you and your children through this but if she can’t please don’t put the blame on her. Please heal first, learn to love yourself and your children first before trying to love another in hopes of replacing old memories with new ones. It doesn’t hurt to seek out grieve therapies for your children as well. This will help them heal and hopefully accept it when you move on.

Brother, I'm so very sorry about your 1st wife. In life, with time, we can never know what challenges we will face. At the beginning, we are bias about assigning the value of things to the things that we don't have but want. For example, money is important, but not as important as the air that we breathe. It is better to fucus on wealth because it is not just money but a fuller encapsulation of wellbeing. So at all stages of life, share all the good things with all of the family and friends to enrich each other. And, at the end in which we all must face, it can be said that life was lived to the fullest. To your new relationship, I feel you may have jumped into to it too soon. Keep in mind that in life we don't always get lucky. You should have known that from your first marriage. You were lucky in love but not in time. In any major decision, please take the time to safeguard the very basic needs of you wellness. There is always a risk, but it is absolutely okay to lay down everything that is important to you before moving forward. Remember that time can be a friend, so use it and make sure that your choices reflects your needs.

@@gaothy007 unfortunately in tge Hmong marriages this kind of thing runs deep. Either the man/woman. They do not think or understand more so they just chooses to ignore it. When the man married its you he's marrying not your children. He doesn't want all your excess baggage. You have to understand especially if he's willing to abandoned his own flesh and blood children, what makes you think that he'll treat or want yours? Than there are the women too they're worse. They're evil asf. Mistreating the stepchildren with such malicious behavior. Divorced folks need to think of their children and not their own selfish greedy needs.
