This is a very well timed video Thor!! I 'm a tinkerer and I have been pondering this swap for a while and along comes your video. I hear what you hear in the swap, a little louder and perhaps slightly bolder but the nylon suit that guitar. I have an extremely bright LP that just may sound better with nylon saddles. Now after hearing this I know it's worth a try! Great playing and presentation Thor as always! You get a great sound on YT.

Maybe Nylon saddles will help tame some of the brightness in your guitar. I didn't think the difference between the two sets was huge, but enough to make me wanna go with the Nylon set. Thanks for your kind words and for mentioning my recorded sound. It's always good to hear feedback on how it comes out on other speaker systems than mine. All the best 😊

Great video, Thor! I feel like the nylon is more subdued and the nickel is slightly more forward. I think you sound excellent playing either and I think the preference would be what "feels" better.

Thanks Robert. I agree with what you heard, and the nylons felt more like home to me. All the best 😊

Very curious about this change in saddles - listening on quality headphones and looking at the waveform in Logic Pro - I'm not hearing a significant difference - but I can see more bass and rounder forms using Nickel... Maybe the question becomes - is the feel different? Also, could the impact be more important on a Standard Les Paul as the attack is shorter?

Hi, interesting that you can see a kind of warmer tone profile on the nickel saddles. I felt the opposite playing them. They felt louder and harder in a way. But it is subtle and also hard to know how much bias I had towards liking the nylon saddles. I found this a useful exercise, but as you say, doing the same on a Les Paul might have a different outcome. Only one way to find out... Cheers 😊
