I love that this chanel gives advice that applies to sparring and fighting. So manny JKD schools and channels showing dead patterns, useless complicated trapping, theory etc. This channel gives me some game every time I watch.

*Great explanation, James! Love it and please keep these coming. I've started learning JKD recently, in Spain and it's awesome. I wish I was in the U.S as that's where most awesome JKD Instructors are*

Excellent explanation of corkscrew punch with proper head and shoulder positioning. No one explains this.

Been a JKD student for 22 years, mainly under Poteet lineage. You all should open a place in Phoenix, we have no real JKD down here.

That's why it's a counter for an overhand and not a liver shot.

@@chriswiltz6860he exposed his liver to his opponent. Start at 1:20 . They are both on a south pow stance. What if his opponent fake an overhand left but proceed with a left body shot; a left hook or a left upper cut to the liver. You do not want to do that twistin jab against a boxer. And by the way it is not a jkd technique. Bruce Lee never punch that way.

@@brucele2776It's an interception to a committed overhand, like they said and clearly demonstrate at 1:20. Obviously a fake or feint would create an opening - that's what they're for. By your logic you shouldn't throw a jab either because someone could slip it and dig in a body shot. As far as Bruce Lee using this - I think he'd be fine with it. It falls pretty firmly into ta "attack by drawing" that he discussed in Tao of JKD.
