Listening from Kisumu, Kenya. How I wish i could go back and live with my people back in South Sudan. Missing the culture much. A nostalgic sound.

I have been to many introduction ceremonies of various cultures. This is surely impressive - the music for those who understand the meanings, costumes, ceremony etc are all really good

Can any Acholi in South Sudan tell me whether "Nyom" is the same as wed? In Kenya wed is pronounced as "Nywomo" For Example Opiyo nywomo Akoth
@akello5224 жыл бұрын
YES Elijah!!! "NYOM" IS (Wedding) all across ACOLI /Acholi (Uganda and S.Sudan, all the same)!!! Personally i think there are more bigger Acholi groups left in S.Sudan than those that settled in Uganda!! and by the way, there is another Big LUO speaking tribe in Ethiopia called (PA Anywar)!!! very preserved!! , with limited intermarrieges with other tribes other than their own!!!
@richardokee87483 жыл бұрын
Nyoom is marriage, nyoomo is to marry by delivering the bride wealth in Acholi
