If you physically intimidate someone, that still counts as assault and if you continue forward, you give them clear reason to do whatever it takes to stop you. Whatever the woman did when they were fighting isn't on the guy who was defending himself. He's very much still a victim as he didn't influence her actions. Buddy pulled out a firearm and got disarmed. But he still had a knife and was in ckise quarters. So the threat WASNT over. If you have a knife in your hand and I just took your gun, the next step you take, if it isnt backwards with your hands up decides where you end up. In custody or 6ft under. That, by law, is self defense. He stopped an attacker who refused to relent and then resorted to lethal force. When said lethal force was taken, he continued to advance. Case closed. However, NY has no self defense laws. You cant stand your ground in NY. Its why im glad im in NJ now.
