Jeff was by far the best drummer that Quo had. With Jeff, the songs had oooooooomph!!!

Jeff had a huge input to Def , he provided the safety net that helped everyone hold their nerve and thankfully Rick made it through. Well done Jeff, its a long time ago but not forgotten 👏👏👏👏👏

Brilliant. Again. It's lovely to see the likes of Jeff and Andrew talking. What other gems do you have? Rhino? 👍☺️🤘

With regard to changing the set for each new tour , there’s always going to be the songs the punters are there to hear . Quo had to many hits. It would be impossible for the band to please everyone 😂❤

Loads of respect for Jeff. Fantastic drummer, and the Jeff / Rhino years are my favourite period of the band. What he has to say about David doesn't surprise me in the slightest, and I completely agree with him about Porter. He was with the band every step of the way during their RTYD record-breaking attempt, whereas David was too busy watching Tottenham vs Wimbledon F.C.

Speaking of which, looking forward to more Jeff clips

Nice to get some interviews with other people in the band and get some slightly different perspective on things.

Jeff, you're such a nice guy. I always thought you would be, but this is the first interview I've seen of you. Jeff, having been a Fan of Quo since they first began....well, 1967 from recollection...all us 'Quo Army' have been fiercely loyal to Nuff and Spud, but in all honesty, you and Rhino Ramped up the Quo and Quo became Faster and more professional as a result of you guy's. You didn't water Quo down in my opinion at all. Don't forget that Pete Kirscher was Drumming for Quo when Margarita Time came out..... totally understand where Nuff was coming from at that time!!!! Jeff, you seem quite articulate.....that doesn't quite sound hmmmm; well you know... I became a Bigger Fan because of you, not the other way round. Spud Thundered round his kit and without doubt gave Quo a rather unique Drum Sound, but technically for sure, you could play with ANY established Rock Band....not many Drummers could do that!!!!!

Regarding Kenny Jones standing in for Jeff on Top Of The Pops. Jeff was actually unwell with dioarea. It was touch and go if he'd be fit to support Queen at Knebworth a couple of days later. I remember it was in the paper at the time. Luckily he made it as I was there at Knebworth.

It's very hard to hear the questions. Could you spring for better mics or two instead of one?
@UnofficialStatusQuo Жыл бұрын
These interviews were for the Hello Quo documentary, so the questions were never meant to be heard
@Nyquest Жыл бұрын
In a documentary production where the interviewer doesn't appear on camera he is not on mic at all as there is no need, the talent gives back the question in the answer.
@kingbeastie Жыл бұрын
@@Nyquest Why not just write the question on the screen so we know what Jeff is answering? Great work, love hearing Jeff talk it's just frustrating having to stop, rewind and turn up the volume to know what he's answering. A minor gripe in the big picture though eh!

Good on Quo wanting the crowd to dance!!! Cool story, and this is such a great interview!!! Jeff is a lovely person and I enjoyed his time with the band. Thanks for posting!!! RTYD he was amazing!!! Think he collapsed with exhaustion?

That was on the 9th August 1986, when they did 3 gigs in a day.

@@UnofficialStatusQuo RTYD challenge was the 21st Sept 1991 and it was 4 gigs - Sheffield, Glasgow, Birmingham and London. Got themselves in the Guinness Book of World Records. Brilliant show in Glasgow and all other venues too, by all accounts. The RTYD tour kicked off end Oct/beginning Nov 1991

@@catherinemontgomery8685 I was replying to when Jeff collapsed due to heat exhaustion. That was the 9th August 1986. They played 3 shows; Denmark (Smukfest), UK (Knebworth), and Switzerland.

Jeff Rich seems to be a nice man. Did I read somewhere that Francis didn’t like him for some reason, and saw him off?
@UnofficialStatusQuo Жыл бұрын
Jeff left of his own accord to go and do his workshops full time. He also struggles with his hearing now, from memory, due to the volume Quo played at between 1986 - 1994. After that, they started using IEMs.

Jeff and Rhino fell out at the end, although they have reconciled since. Francis and Jeff are still in touch and get on well.

What's all this band crap, group not band that's American.

nope , group is when people don't always play instruments and a band is when they do
