Totally true Francis, If you don't like different types of music you ain't a music lover.

Funny how Francis remembers things, because the Live! album isn't strictly just Night 1 (27th October). The Jackie Lynton intro is from Night 2 (28th October), which is what was used in an edited format for the Reunion tour.

I hated Wild Side. It had no bass and it was the first of a slippery slope. I think it was the point where Francis took over. At least he admits Quo is made up of all those musical genres, which I can hear in their music, but he should NEVER forget all those heavy songs that propelled them to the top. If it wasn’t for them I would have thought of Quo as being just another English band. I may never have heard of Status Quo. But I LOVED that heavy sound. So I, and so many others BOUGHT THE RECORDS. We made you famous Francis. Don’t deny your history, because if you do, it’s the same as saying we didn’t count. And we counted.

Absolutely, I like music , don't give a shit what kind of music , if it gives me a shiver or it swings like a steam driven pump then if it gives the knadgers a tickle I'm in .

Will John Rhino Edwards interview be uploaded any time soon?
@markfoster149310 ай бұрын
Francis does talk some sense, but the interviewer seems to forget that Live at Leeds by The Who is a tad better than most bands live albums, that's an understatement btw
@josephbuckley596110 ай бұрын
No. The who live at leeds is the best live album ever. I like quo live but no where near live at leeds

In your opinion! Your opinion is legit, as is everybody's opinion. If I like band b's live album better than band a's, doesn't mean that band b's is the best, just that I like it more. Whenever I put my ideas into a discussion, I always add IMO, because that's all it is.

You think your better now..the live album was and is proper quo..everthing about the frantic four he will dismiss.. I love wild side of life by the way..watch the end of the road where you play it live and see how much the hard-core like it..he comes across as a pratt.

Rossi has a habit of forgetting what made Quo famous. If Marquerita time was Quos first single do you think anyone would of brought it ?

@pauljones9061 if Quo's first single had been Caroline, how many people do you think would have bought that?
@rollingthunder95793 ай бұрын
@@walkingtheboogie Caroline was representative of a brand of heavy boogie that cemented Quo's potential to survive long-term as a band ( which was Quo's intention when they deliberately moved away from being a " hits" band as they had been the psychedelic era to becoming a rock band with a solid following and potential to survive long-term). Marguerita Time was a one-off, made at a time when, like a lot of veteran guitar bands, Quo were trying to maintain chart status in the pop-obsesssed 80s . The song isn't even that bad, but those screaming keyboards are well annoying.I never understood why Quo couldn't have carried on with a mix of heavy songs and AOR pop rock songs like Your Kind Of Love off the Back To Back album. Might have even cracked America.

And Francis really does hate the live album , why ,he seems ashamed ?
@bryemycaz10 ай бұрын
He does not think it's well recorded and they made a lot of mistakes during the performances.
@UnofficialStatusQuo10 ай бұрын
It's well recorded, but poorly mixed. More focus was put on the Glaswegian audience than the band themselves, so it sounds very ambient (almost) and you loose the heaviness of the band. A proper remix for modern stereo systems would bring life back to the recordings.@@bryemycaz

I love hearing the Glasgow audience going for it during Roadhouse Blues, just before "The bit" Slowly getting louder and louder. What I would have given to have been there. Happy though to say I did get there in '82 and '84. On the bouncing balcony! Forever in my memories. No other band would I travel from South Devon to go to the Apollo.

Wild side of life is wonderful. The separation on the live album is awful. You could now tidy the sound up but then you lose the roughness of the original .

They should do something with the master tapes.
@pauljones906110 ай бұрын
Apparently all 3 Glasgow shows could be released as a box set.
@walkingtheboogie10 ай бұрын
@pauljones9061 hawkwind have had some great boxsets released. Rory Gallagher had the complete Irish tour audio released, but for Quo, this hasn't happened...... yet. I say yet as one is ever hopeful. If the tapes aren't destroyed, then anything is possible.
@pauljones906110 ай бұрын
The tapes are safe and sound, whether Universal choose to release them is another matter. Personally I would have John Eden tidy them up. He understands the Quo sound much more than Pip Williams ever did.

@pauljones9061 in another life, perhaps I should have worked as a recording archivist. Might get to hear lots of stuff, some of which no one else would ever hear.
