NYS&W SU-99 by the Rebuilt Marcal Paper Site

NYS&W SU-99 climbs west from PC Yard in Saddle Brook and into Elmwood Park where it encounters a scene vastly different than years past at Marcal Paper. A multiple day long fire which began the evening of January 30th, 2019, would bring the vast majority of the complex on the south side of the New York Susquehanna and Western Main Line down to ashes. Today in 2024, redevelopment of the site has been completed bringing a massive to grounds once occupied by the original Marcal Paper buildings.

Yes it was!! Flames were as high as the smoke stacks if not higher!

It reminded me of those movies of the Blitz in London during WW2. Even the buildings were similar.

Man, you are an absolute master of the old phrase "Always leave 'em wanting more!" 🤣 Wow, it's five years already since that fire. Where does the time go? Honestly I never thought it would be rebuilt, I could see the parent company selling off the property and rebuilding out of state but thank goodness they didn't! A lot of good people got to keep their jobs. Just a stunning video, thanks for posting! 👍
