Another way to break this puzzle is to notice the "389" Triple in Box 7, which then leads to the '26' pair, which makes Row 3, Col 3 a naked single.

It fills me with so much more confidence that you also get stuck. I managed to collapse once I found a 15 remote pair in boxes 7 & 8, long after I had the 26 pair that collapsed for you. You single-handedly have allowed me to solve hard puzzles with your videos, so thank you and keep it up!

Great minds think alike :) My solve exactly paralleled yours (mine being slower, as usual). Spoiler follows ... - - - - - Like you, I started with the two "Given-centric-scanning" triples (the 1, 5, 7 and the 2, 3. 6). That led me to the two 2,6 pairs in c3. I found those through my brute-force corner-marking. Once I had the two 2,6 pairs in C3, the rest of the puzzle collapsed like yours. I'm happy that I ended up following the same path as you. Props for another fun one on this holiday Sunday.

I had the same problem, not seeing that 26 double (which I had marked) but I also missed that 389 triple in box 7 which would have solved it too! I'm glad you got stuck where I got stuck! :)

I used the autofill offer by NYT - and when I do I always finish way faster. My scanning is just better that way.

Missed hidden triple in box 7…389 in column 1 and 389 in row 7, leaves a hidden (geometry) in box 7 thus pointing pair of 6 in row 7…

I used uniqueness: the left-bottom corner was down to 157, but 15 could be ruled out bu uniqueness.

I don’t know if your loyal followers get a vote, but I prefer the simpler “Geometry” to “Given-centric scanning”

I think Geometry is a subset of "given-centric scanning" so I'll try to differentiate the two a bit and not lean too heavily on the latter.
