How i solved the end was by noticing that 6 could only be at 1 spot in the last column. Took me a while. Thanks a lot for your videos, they have helped me quite a lot.

Another fun solve. I really enjoyed all the diagonal bi-value cells.

37:23 for me. I'm getting better, let's see what I missed though Edit: Ok I think we did the same thing. I missed that you could place the 5 in c2 after placing the 4 and that has a decent-ish follow up for a first pass. I'm sure that ended up slowing me down somewhere. 4:01 I was very pleased with myself for getting that naked single 1 in box eight. I really struggle with the concept of "what it can't be" so the fact that I even thought to look was a win. Thanks Rangsk!

It took me a while to notice column 9's 78 pair, as well as a number of other things. Block 7's 18 pair came late.

I've only recently heard of the Snyder Strategy, surprisingly, so I'm learning a whole new way of completing these puzzles. I'm still not sure it will be that much faster for me since I got pretty good at penciling in candidates quickly. The trouble with using the candidates method is it gets tedious (I never use the "automatic candidates" option). This is an interesting way and I can see the benefits. One thing I've noticed though is, using the Snyder method, it seems a lot of naked singles are left unresolved because looking for doubles makes your mind think differently, I think. So, tbd. Thank you for your work.

IMO, unless you're in a competition, speed is far less important than whether you had fun and whether the hobby is sustainable. I also finding marking all candidates to be tedious, so why do it? Of note, though: no competition winner is marking all candidates.

43:59. I also didn't spot the hidden pair in column 9 at first. That was an interesting way to finish it.

Hi, first time I saw one of your videos and also first time I saw a hard NYT Sudoku. I'm curious about the rating, is it common for a 'hard' NYT puzzle to be this approachable?
@Rangsk

Essentially, yes. The NYT rating system seems to be as follows: Easy: Only naked and hidden singles Medium/Hard: Naked and hidden singles, naked and hidden pairs/triples, pointing, and claiming. I don't know what criteria they use between Medium and Hard, but it doesn't seem to be based on limiting the required techniques. No other techniques are ever required.
