I would never be able to solve this. Is Rangsk a professor? He has mentioned working on a few projects

@@alanreno This one took me over 38 minutes. Normally around 20ish. I usually start backwards. Schneider marking the 9's. Then the 8's, etc. Then at some point, pencil Mark (Goodliffe) the darn thing to find doubles, triples, quads, and even the unlikely quint. Sometimes you need to walk away for a bit and then re-examine with fresh eyes.

10:17 today, lots of things looking into lots of other things Kept identifying rows and columns with only 2/3 items left Also spotted lots of pairs and singles quicker than I usually would Feel like the 56 pair in box 4 was essential

I solved R2 with the complement of the quad: box 3 had the NYT trick acting on R2, the three eliminated digits 835 were already eliminated from C7, giving you a triple in R2, C459. ETA: You explained that later as well.
